Thatcher Demko
Thatcher Douglas Demko (born December 8, 1995) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Demko was selected by the Canucks in the second round (36th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career College and minor leagues Demko began playing ice hockey in San Diego at the age of 4. In 2010, he moved to Los Angeles to play youth hockey for the LA Junior Kings. In the 2011–12 USHL season, 2011–12 season, Demko played with the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL). 2012–13 USHL Season
The 2012–13 USHL season is the 34th season of the United States Hockey League as an all-junior league. The regular season began on September 28, 2012, and concluded on April 13, 2013, with the regular season champion winning the Anderson Cup. The playoffs began on April 16, 2013, and completed on May 17, 2013. The top four teams from each conference competed for the Clark Cup, with all series played in a best-of-five format. NHL Central Scouting Bureau
The NHL Central Scouting Services (CSS) is a department within the National Hockey League that ranks prospects for the NHL Entry Draft at specific times during the hockey season. Players are ranked based on how well they will translate to the professional game in the National Hockey League. It was founded by hockey executive Jack Button in 1975 to establish a centralized database of NHL prospects. Button served as the director until 1979. Its current director is Dan Marr. The Department consists of staff at the NHL Offices in Toronto, along with eight full-time scouts, and fifteen part-time scouts throughout North America. The Union Dutchmen ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college ice hockey program that represents Union College. The Dutchmen are a member of ECAC Hockey. They play at the Frank L. Messa Rink at Achilles Center in Schenectady, New York. Beanpot (ice Hockey)
The Beanpot is an annual ice hockey tournament among the four major US college hockey schools of the Boston, Massachusetts area, usually held during the first two Mondays in February at TD Garden. The tournament has been held annually since the 1952–53 season and has been held at its current location since 1996. The tournament gives the winner bragging rights over its cross-town rivals, and the quest for this highly sought-after trophy is contested in front of sell-out crowds from all four schools. Hockey East Goaltending Champion
The Hockey East Goaltending Champion is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Hockey East regular season, typically to the goaltender who held the lowest Goals Against Average (GAA) in conference games during the regular season. The Goaltending Champion was first awarded in 1985 and every year thereafter. The current record for lowest GAA against conference opponents in a season is held by Jimmy Howard of Maine with a 1.15 Goals Against Average, set during the 2003–04 season. Seven players have won the award multiple times, with Scott King winning three times. The All-Hockey East Teams are composed of all players from teams that are members of Hockey East, an NCAA Division I hockey-only conference. Each year, from the 1984–85 season onward, at the conclusion of the Hockey East regular season, the head coaches of each team vote for players to be placed on each all-conference team. The First, Second, and Rookie Teams have been named in each ECAC Hockey season, except for 1985–86, in which no Rookie Team was named. The all-conference teams are composed of one goaltender, two defensemen, and three forwards. If a tie occurs for the final selection of any position, both players are included as part of the greater all-conference team. Greg Gardner
Gregory Gardner (born November 21, 1975) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former goaltender who is the NCAA Division I record-holder for shutouts in a season (as of 2021). He was the first ever player signed by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Career When Niagara University began sponsoring men's ice hockey in 1996–97 NCAA Division III men's ice hockey season, 1996, they did so with Gardner as their primary goaltender. The team joined ECAC West for their inaugural season, one of the top conferences in NCAA Division III, Division III, and performed surprisingly well. Gardner helped the team finish second in the conference but, because the team was in its first season of play, they were ineligible for any postseason play. Hockey East
The Hockey East Association, also known as Hockey East, is a college ice hockey conference which operates entirely in New England. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. Hockey East came into existence in 1984 for men's hockey when most of its current members split from what is today known as ECAC Hockey, after disagreements with the Ivy League members. The women's league, the WHEA, began play in 2002. On October 5, 2011, the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish (an ACC member outside football) announced they would be joining Hockey East as the conference's first non-New England school in 2013 after the CCHA folded.
