Carousel (band)
Carousel is a Latvian band that represented their country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv. The band was originally a duo consisting of founding members Sabīne Žuga and Mārcis Vasiļevskis. Staņislavs Judins (double bass) and Mareks Logins (drums) joined Carousel in 2019. They were selected to represent Latvia in the 2019 contest after winning the country's national selection, Supernova. The Eurovision Song Contest 2019 was the 64th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Tel Aviv, Israel, following the country's victory at the 2018 contest with the song " Toy" by Netta. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC/Kan), the contest was held at Expo Tel Aviv, and consisted of two semi-finals on 14 and 16 May, and a final on 18 May 2019. Latvia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "That Night" written by Mārcis Vasiļevskis and Sabīne Žuga. The song was performed by the band Carousel. In the semi-finals on 26 January and 2 February 2019, four entries were selected to advance from each show.
