Thargomindah (frequently shortened to Thargo) is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Bulloo, Queensland, Australia. The town of Thargomindah is the administrative centre for the Shire of Bulloo. In the , Thargomindah had a population of 270 people. It was founded on Wongkumara and Kalali territory. On 17 April 2020, the Queensland Government decided to reorganise the nine localities in the Shire of Bullo, resulting in six localities. Thargomindah, previously being of the area immediately surrounding the town of Thargomindah, was enlarged through the incorporation of all of Bullawarra (except for a small portion in the south of Bullawarra which was absorbed into Bulloo Downs), all of Dynevor and all of Norley, creating a locality of . The Bulloo Developmental Road is an outback road in Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Adventure Way, a route from Brisbane to Adelaide via the Australian outback. Noccundra
Noccundra is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Bulloo in South West Queensland, Australia. The town was previously known as Nocundra. Prior to 2020 the locality was previously known as Nockatunga. In the , the locality of Nockatunga (now Noccundra) had a population of 11 people. Geography The town is on the banks of the Wilson River 145 kilometres from and 160 kilometres west of ThargomindahNoccundra'Bulloo Shire (accessed 7 July 2006) and contained within the pastoral holding of Nockatunga Station. Bulloo River
The Bulloo River is an isolated drainage system in western Queensland, central Australia. Its floodplain, which extends into northern New South Wales, is an important area for waterbirds when inundated. It comprises most of the Bulloo-Bancannia drainage basin. Description The Bulloo is the only river in the region not part of either the Murray–Darling basin or the Lake Eyre basin; instead it flows into several ephemeral lakes which are blocked by low hills from reaching the Lake Frome, the Paroo River or the Lake Bancannia systems. In its lowest reaches, which extend to near Tibooburra, New South Wales, is the distributary known as Bella Creek. Cunnamulla () is a town and a locality in the Shire of Paroo, Queensland, Australia. It is south of Charleville, and approximately west of the state capital, Brisbane. In the , Cunnamulla had a population of 1,140 people. Geography Cunnamulla lies on the Warrego River in South West Queensland within the Murray-Darling drainage basin. It flows from the north (Coongoola) through the town, which is in the centre of the locality, and exits to the south ( Tuen). Adventure Way
The Adventure Way is an Australian outback route between Brisbane, Queensland and Innamincka, South Australia (and, in some publications, extending through to Adelaide via the Strzelecki Track). Using the Adventure Way, it is from Brisbane to Innamincka. The recommended journey time, allowing for some sightseeing, food and rest (including overnight stops) is 96 hours. Bullawarra is a former locality in the Shire of Bulloo, Queensland, Australia. In the , Bullawarra had a population of 5 people. On 17 April 2020 the Queensland Government reorganised the nine localities in the Shire of Bulloo, resulting in six localities. This included discontinuing the locality of Bullawarra by absorbing most of its land into Thargomindah except for a small portion in the south of Bullawarra which was absorbed into Bulloo Downs.
