The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly or Andhra Pradesh Śāsana Sabha is the lower house of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature. The Legislative Assembly consists of 175 members which are elected by adult universal suffrage under the first-past-the-post system. The duration of the Assembly is five years from the date appointed for its first meeting, unless it is decided to dissolve the Assembly sooner. The Legislative Assembly's main functions include legislation, overseeing of administration, passing the budget, and airing public grievances. The assembly is Bicameral and holds three sessions annually: one for Budget, Monsoon and Winter. The Legislative Assembly took up residence in the interim Legislative Assembly Building in Amaravati beginning in the 2016 Budget session. Peddireddy Dwarakanatha Reddy
Peddireddy Dwarakanatha Reddy (born 1970) is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh. He is an MLA from Thamballapalle Assembly Constituency in the erstwhile Chittoor District which is presently renamed as Annamayya district. He won the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election representing YSR Congress Party. He has been nominated again by YSRCP to contest the 2024 Assembly Election. Early life and education Reddy was born in Yerrathivaripalle Village, Sodam Mandal. His father Peddi Reddy Lakshmana Reddy was a farmer. He completed his schooling from ZP High School Sadum. Annamayya district is one of the twenty-six districts in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and one of the eight districts in the Rayalaseema region formed from Rajampeta Parliamentary Constituency. 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
The 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections were held in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on 11 April 2019 for constituting the fifteenth Legislative Assembly in the state. They were held alongside the 2019 Indian general election. The YSR Congress Party won the election in a landslide, winning 151 of the 175 seats, with the incumbent Telugu Desam Party winning just 23. The Jana Sena Party entered the legislature with one seat, while the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party failed to win any seats.
