Thailand Cultural Centre
The Thailand Cultural Centre (Thai alphabet, Thai; ศูนย์วัฒนธรรมแห่งประเทศไทย) is a performing arts venue in Huai Khwang district, Bangkok, Thailand. History Built with a grant from Japan, the Thailand Cultural Centre opened on 9 October 1987 as part of celebrations for Bhumibol Adulyadej, King Bhumibol's 60th birthday. Facilities The venue consists of two auditoriums and one outdoor stage and is used for various live performances year round. The main hall is a 2,000-seat auditorium, and is used for stage presentations, concerts, and conferences. The small hall is a 500-seat multi-purpose auditorium, which is integrated with a 1,000-seat outdoor amphitheater. The Social Education and Exhibition Building accommodates a cultural library and the Thai Life Permanent Exhibition. There is also a Japanese Pavilion and a Thai Pavilion. Bang Bamru ( th, บางบำหรุ, ) is a ''khwaeng'' (subdistrict) of Bang Phlat District in Thonburi side of Bangkok. History The name "Bang Bamru" after the local canal, Khlong Bang Bamru that flows through central of the area. Bang Kapi
Bang Kapi ( th, บางกะปิ, ) is one of the 50 districts (''khet'') of Bangkok, Thailand. It is bounded by other Bangkok districts (from north clockwise): Bueng Kum, Saphan Sung, Prawet, Suan Luang, Huai Khwang, Wang Thonglang, and Lat Phrao. Name The name Bang Kapi consists of two parts. ''Bang'' is a common prefix for place names in Thailand and roughly means a "hamlet by the waterfront". There are multiple theories as to the origin of ''kapi''. The word ''kapi'' itself exists in Thai and means "shrimp paste", which is one possible origin. The Metropolitan Rapid Transit or MRT is a mass rapid transit system serving the Bangkok Metropolitan Region in Thailand. The Thai script ( th, อักษรไทย, ) is the abugida used to write Thai, Southern Thai and many other languages spoken in Thailand. The Thai alphabet itself (as used to write Thai) has 44 consonant symbols ( th, พยัญชนะ, ''phayanchana''), 16 vowel symbols ( th, สระ, ''sara'') that combine into at least 32 vowel forms and four tone diacritics ( th, วรรณยุกต์ or วรรณยุต, or ) to create characters mostly representing syllables.
