Thailand competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016. Competitors Disability classifications Every participant at the Paralympics has their disability grouped into one of five disability categories; amputation, the condition may be congenital or sustained through injury or illness; cerebral palsy; wheelchair athletes, there is often overlap between this and other categories; visual impairment, including blindness; Les autres, any physical disability that does not fall strictly under one of the other categories, for example dwarfism or multiple sclerosis. The Paralympic Committee of Thailand (PCT, th, คณะกรรมการพาราลิมปิกแห่งประเทศไทย) is the national Paralympic committee in Thailand for the Paralympic Games movement, based in Bangkok, Thailand. It is a non-profit organisation that selects teams and raises funds to send Thailand competitors to Paralympic events organised by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Asian Para Games events organised by the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) and ASEAN Para Games events organised by the ASEAN Para Sports Federation (APSF). A wheelchair is a chair with wheels, used when walking is difficult or impossible due to illness, injury, problems related to old age, or disability. Prawat Wahoram
Prawat Wahoram (; born 24 March 1981) is a Paralympian athlete from Thailand competing in category T54 wheelchair racing events. He competed for Thailand in six Paralympic Games from 2000 to 2020 and got the total of seven gold, eight silver, and one bronze medals. He is considered the most successful Thai Paralympic athlete. Career Competing in wheelchair athletics, Wahoram has represented Thailand at the Paralympic Games on six occasions. He won his first medals, two gold, at the 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney, winning the 5000 m and 10000 m races in the T54 category. Wahoram competed in the 2004 Summer Paralympics at various distances, the 800 m, 1500 m, 5000 m and 10000 m race. Dwarfism is a condition wherein an organism is exceptionally small, and mostly occurs in the animal kingdom.
