Thaicom 5
Thaicom 5 was a geostationary communications satellite operated by Thaicom. It was used to provide communications services to Asia, Africa, Middle East, Americas, Europe and Australia. Overview Thaicom 5 was constructed by Alcatel Alenia Space, and is based on the Spacebus 3000A satellite bus, with a configuration identical to the Thaicom 3 satellite which it replaced. It was originally ordered as Thaicom 4, but sold to Agrani as Agrani 2 before completion. It was completed in 1997, and stored until June 2005 when it was cancelled and sold back to Thaicom. It was equipped with 25 G/H band (IEEE C band) and 14 J band (IEEE Ku band) transponders, and at launch it had a mass of , with an expected operational lifespan of 12 years. A communications satellite is an artificial satellite that relays and amplifies radio telecommunication signals via a transponder; it creates a communication channel between a source transmitter and a receiver at different locations on Earth. Communications satellites are used for television, telephone, radio, internet, and military applications. The S400 is a family of pressure fed liquid propelled rocket engines manufactured by ArianeGroup (former Airbus DS) at the Orbital Propulsion Centre in Lampoldshausen, Germany. A geosynchronous transfer orbit or geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) is a type of geocentric orbit. Satellites that are destined for geosynchronous (GSO) or geostationary orbit (GEO) are (almost) always put into a GTO as an intermediate step for reaching their final orbit. A GTO is highly elliptic. Its perigee (closest point to Earth) is typically as high as low Earth orbit (LEO), while its apogee (furthest point from Earth) is as high as geostationary (or equally, a geosynchronous) orbit. Eutelsat 113 West A, formerly Satmex-6, is a geostationary communications satellite which is operated by Eutelsat. Originally built for Mexico's Satmex, it was launched in 2006. The satellite was acquired by Eutelsat in its 2014 merger with Satmex, and renamed ''Eutelsat 113 West A'' in May. Agrani
Agrani river originates near Balwadi (बलवडी) on Khanapur plateau (Khanapur tehsil of Sangli district). At origin, there is a small tree temple of great Agastya rishi (अगस्त्य ऋषी). After Vajrachounde (वज्रचौंडे) (Tasgaon tehsil), river turns and flows to Southeast direction. In Sangli district, it travels for 62 km (Khanapur tehsil- 22.5 km; Tasgaon tehsil- 14 km; KM tehsil- 25.5 km), after which, in Karnataka near Athani village it finally joins the Krishna River. Agrani is proved to be lifeline of draught prone Kavathe Mahankal tehsil. The river has also been the subject of a major desilting project.
