Minor League Baseball (MiLB) is a professional baseball organization below Major League Baseball (MLB), constituted of teams affiliated with MLB clubs. Durant () is a city in Bryan County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 18,589 in the 2020 census. It serves as the capital of the Choctaw Nation, and is the largest settlement on the reservation, ranking ahead of McAlester and Poteau. Durant is the principal city of the Durant Micropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 46,067 in 2020. Durant is also part of the Dallas–Fort Worth Combined Statistical Area, anchoring the northern edge. Denison Blue Sox
The city of Denison, Texas, hosted a franchise in minor league baseball that competed in the Texas–Oklahoma League for three seasons, under the names Denison Katydids, Denison Blue Sox and Denison Champions. They competed as the Katydids in 1912, as the Blue Sox in 1913, and as the Champions in 1914. Starting in 1915, the city of Denison would host a team in the Western Association, the Denison Railroaders. The Katydids of 1912 had at least one player who went on to compete in the major leagues, pitcher Jim Haislip. Records for the team are largely incomplete. Horace H. Covington, brother of Tex Covington and Sam Covington, managed the team. The Blue Sox of 1913 had at least two players who went on to compete in the major leagues; Haislip and first baseman Sam Covington. Pitcher Rick Adams had played in the major leagues in 1905. Cleburne Generals
The Cleburne Generals were a minor league baseball team based in Cleburne, Texas. In 1921 and 1922, the Generals played as members of the Class D (baseball), Class D level Texas-Oklahoma League. The "Generals" nickname corresponds to the namesake of Cleburne, General Patrick Cleburne. The Cleburne Generals hosted minor league home games at Gorman's Park, still in use and known today as Hulen Park. History The 1906 Cleburne Railroaders played the season as members of the Class D level Texas League, with Baseball Hall of Fame charter member Tris Speaker on the roster.
