State Highway 178 (SH 178) is a Texas state highway in the city of El Paso in El Paso County maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The route designated in 1991 connects New Mexico State Road 136 at the New Mexico state line between El Paso and Santa Teresa, New Mexico, to a freeway carrying Interstate 10, U.S. Route 85, and U.S. Route 180 on the west side of El Paso. The route together with NM 136 is a major urban roadway connecting an international border crossing with I-10. The route also has an important intersection with SH 20. The route's numerical designation was previously assigned to a road in the Texas Panhandle during the 1930s. Santa Teresa Port Of Entry
The Santa Teresa Port of Entry is a border crossing between Santa Teresa, New Mexico and San Jerónimo, Chihuahua. It was built in 1992 to relieve pressure from the busy El Paso BOTA Port of Entry, a short distance to the east, and started operating on January 12, 1993. General Services Administration is currently increasing the capacity of the port of entry, taking advantage of the available land. The crossing is open daily from 6am until midnight. The station has three commercial vehicle lanes and four passenger lanes. The port of entry is located forty-two miles south of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and around twenty minutes from downtown El Paso, Texas. Sunland Park, New Mexico
Sunland Park is a city in southern Doña Ana County, New Mexico, United States, on the borders of Texas and the Mexican state of Chihuahua, with Ciudad Juárez adjoining it on the south and El Paso, Texas on the east. The community of Santa Teresa adjoins it on the northwest. The population of Sunland Park was 14,106 at the 2010 census and was estimated at 17,978 by the United States Census Bureau in 2019. Doña Ana County is located in the southern part of the State of New Mexico, United States. State Highway 152 (SH 152) is a Texas state highway that runs from Dumas, TX, Dumas east to the Oklahoma state line. The route was originally designated in 1930 between Pampa, TX, Pampa and Wheeler, TX, Wheeler, but was extended both west (replacing State Highway 209 from Pampa to Borger) and east to its current termini in 1938.
