Texas Senate, District 4
District 4 of the Texas Senate is a senatorial district that serves all of Chambers and Jefferson counties, and portions of Galveston, Harris, and Montgomery counties in the southeastern portion of the state of Texas. The current Senator from District 4 is Brandon Creighton, the winner of a special election held on August 5, 2014, to succeed the resigning Tommy Williams. Brandon Creighton
Charles Brandon Creighton (born August 5, 1970) is an American attorney and politician from Conroe, Texas, who is a Republican member of the Texas Senate from District 4, and a former member of the Texas House of Representatives from District 16. Background Brandon Creighton was born in Conroe, Texas to Patricia (née Kincannon) and Morris Creighton. He is the youngest of their three children. He is a long-term member of the First Baptist Church of Conroe. He is an eighth-generation Montgomery County resident, where he resides with his family. Creighton graduated from Conroe High School, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Joseph Lewis Hogg
Joseph Lewis Hogg (September 13, 1806 – May 16, 1862) was a politician and a Confederate States Army general from Texas during the American Civil War. He was the father of Texas Governor Jim Hogg. Hogg was born in Morgan County, Georgia, and moved with his family to Alabama in 1818. He studied law, and became an officer in the militia before moving to Texas in 1839, where he established a law practice. He was elected to the Texas Congress and served from 1843 to 1844. He supported annexation by the United States, and was elected to the Texas Senate in 1846. At the outbreak of the Mexican–American War however, he resigned his seat and enlisted in the Texas Mounted Volunteers, fighting in the Battle of Monterrey. He was chosen as a delegate at the Texas State Convention in 1860, and cast his vote to secede from the Union. Michael Galloway (politician)
Michael L. "Mike" Galloway (born March 3, 1965) is previously a Republican member of the Texas Senate representing District 4. Galloway defeated Democratic incumbent Carl Parker and became the first Republican to hold the seat since Reconstruction. Biography Galloway is a fifth generation Texan who was born in 1965 and grew up on a small farm near Tomball. By age 16, he was working as a roustabout and a roughneck in the oil fields of Southeast Texas. While still in high school, he began work as an independent oil and gas contractor, and in 1989, at the age of 24, he founded Galloway Energy, an oil and gas production company based in Montgomery County, Texas.
