Texas Motorcycle Grand Prix
The Grand Prix of the Americas, known as the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas for sponsorship reasons, is a Grand Prix motorcycle race that was held for the first time in the 2013 season at the Circuit of the Americas. It became the third MotoGP round in the United States, alongside the Indianapolis Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (which lost its place on the calendar from 2015) and the United States Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (which lost its place on the calendar from 2014). The 2020 race was cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The event is due to take place at the Circuit of the Americas until at least 2023. Thomas Lüthi (born 6 September 1986) is a Swiss sporting director at Prüstel GP, and former Grand Prix motorcycle racer. He spent 19 years in Grand Prix world championships, becoming one of only six riders to reach 300 race starts, spending much of his career with the Interwetten Paddock team, with who he became the 2005 season's 125cc world champion. Career Early career Lüthi was born in Oberdiessbach, Kanton Bern, Switzerland, but grew up in Emmental. Lüthi started racing pocket bikes at the age of nine. Gas Gas is a Spanish motorcycle manufacturer established in 1985 by Narcìs Casas and Josep Pibernat in Salt, Girona. The company specializes in off-road motorcycles for trials and enduro competitions. Gas Gas was purchased by KTM motorcycles in 2019.
