TexShare
The TexShare program is a statewide resource-sharing consortium of hundreds of member libraries in Texas, United States administered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). The TexShare program maximizes the effectiveness of library expenditures by enabling member libraries to share staff expertise, share materials electronic and print formats, pursue joint purchasing agreements on electronic databases, and encourage the cooperative development of Texas libraries statewide. TexShare is made up of Texas academic libraries, public libraries, and libraries of clinical medicine. TexShare is a member driven consortium that exists with the support and cooperation of Texas member libraries. Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) is an agency of the U.S. state of Texas's government that oversees all public post-secondary education in the state. It is headquartered at 1801 North Congress Avenue in Austin. THECB determines which Texas public four-year universities are permitted to start or continue degree programs. THECB also evaluates degrees from other states and other nations for use in Texas. However, operations of the various universities or systems are the responsibility of each university or system board of regents. From 1998 to 2003, it developed a higher-education plan for the state, called "Closing the Gaps by 2015". Amigos Library Services
Amigos Library Services, Inc. is a membership-based American not-for-profit chartered to serve libraries. The organization was formed in 1974 in Dallas, Texas, as the AMIGOS Bibliographic Council. It included 22 libraries, united to bring OCLC access to the southwestern United States. Amigos is one of the largest library resource-sharing networks and a provider of information technology to libraries. In July 2012, Amigos merged with Missouri Library Network Corporation (MLNC), an organization similar to Amigos headquartered in St. Louis. The action followed votes to approve the merger in April 2012 by MLNC members and May 2012 by Amigos members. The combined organization retained the Amigos name with Dallas as its headquarters and an office in the St. Louis area.
