Tetu Constituency
Tetu Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It was established in 1988 and is one of the six constituencies in Nyeri County. Tetu Constituency comprises the Tetu Division of Nyeri County and is located entirely within the Nyeri County Council area. Tetu constituency has only three Wards, the least number of wards out of the constituencies in Nyeri county. Its most famous representatives are: The iconic liberal leader of the Mau Mau, Dedan Kimathi Waciuri (31 October 1920 – 18 February 1957) and Dr. Wangari Maathai (1940-2011), who served for the session from 2002 to 2007. Constituencies Of Kenya
Constituencies of Kenya are used to elect members of the National Assembly, the lower chamber of the Kenyan Parliament. In accordance with article 89 of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya, there are 290 constituencies, based on a formula where these constituencies were to be delineated based on population numbers. Each constituency returns one MP. In the following lists, the population of each of the 47 counties is given as enumerated in the census of 24 August 2009. National Rainbow Coalition
The National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) is a political party in Kenya. As an alliance, it was in power from 2002 and 2005 when it collapsed due to disagreements between members over a constitutional referendum. Formation In preparation of the 2002 elections, the National Alliance Party of Kenya (Formerly NAK now NAPK) allied itself with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) to form the National Alliance of Rainbow Coalition (NARC). On December 27, 2002, NARC won a landslide victory over KANU. NARC presidential candidate Mwai Kibaki got 62% of the votes in the presidential elections, against only 31% for the KANU candidate, Uhuru Kenyatta. United Democratic Alliance (Kenya)
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is the current ruling political party in Kenya. Their slogan is "Kazi ni Kazi" (Work is work) and their symbol is a wheelbarrow .The party, initially called the Party of Development and Reforms, officially changed its name to UDA in December 2020. The party became notable in January 2021, and is linked to politicians allied to Dr. William Ruto, the President of Kenya. The party fielded candidates in various by-elections for elective positions slated for March 2021. Jubilee Party
The Jubilee Party of Kenya was the ruling political party of the Republic of Kenya from 2016 until 13 September 2022. The party was founded on 8 September 2016, following the merger of 11 smaller parties. The National Alliance
The National Alliance (TNA) was a political party in Kenya. It took on its current identity when Uhuru Kenyatta assumed control and renamed it as the vehicle for his 2012 presidential campaign. History The National Alliance was founded as the National Alliance Party of Kenya on 3 July 2000.
