Test Drive (EP)
"Test Drive" is the extended play (EP) by Japanese singer and former KAT-TUN member Jin Akanishi, serving as his debut single in the United States. The EP which features American singer Jason Derulo was released digitally to the American market on November 8, 2011, while on December 7, 2011 was released physically in Japan where it topped the Oricon and ''Billboard'' album charts. Background In February 2010 Akanishi held over 30 concerts titled "You & Jin" in Japan, while in June had 3 sold-out shows at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Jin Akanishi
is a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He has been active since 1998 as one of the two lead vocalists of the J-pop boy-band KAT-TUN before starting a solo career in 2009. Akanishi has also acted in several films and dramas. Biography Early life Akanishi was born in Chiba Prefecture, Greater Tokyo Area, Japan on July 4, 1984, as the eldest of two sons. He has a younger brother Reio, who also works in the entertainment industry as an actor under the stage name Fuuta. Akanishi moved to Tokyo in the first grade. In 1997, when he was still in grade school, a classmate sent in a photo of him to idol magazine ''Myojo'', and he was featured in the "Cool Classmates" corner of the issue. The Warfield Theatre, colloquially referred to as The Warfield, is a 2,300-seat music venue located in San Francisco, California. It was built as a vaudeville theater and opened as the '' Loews Warfield'' on May 13, 1922. Yokohama Arena
is an indoor arena located in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The capacity of the arena is 17,000 and was opened in 1989. Background The single was released in the same month as the extended play ''Test Drive'', and on January 6, 2012, was followed by a sold-out concert at 12,000 seat Yokohama Arena, which was live streamed at the Grammy Museum. Release The single was released in two different editions, the regular or standard edition, which includes a special 16-page photo booklet, and a limited edition, which includes a DVD featuring the title track's music video as well as its making-of video. There are four different cover artworks for the limited edition to match the single's four seasons theme.
