Vittoria Tesi
Vittoria Tesi Tramontini, also known as "La Fiorentina" or "La Moretta" (the Florentine or the Moorish or brunette girl) (Florence, 13 Feb 1701 – 9 May 1775 in Vienna) was an Italian opera singer (later singing teacher) of the 18th century. Her vocal range was that of a contralto. She is "regarded as the first eminent singer of color in the history of Western music". Biography She was born in Florence in 1701, daughter of Alessandro, a lackey of African origin, nicknamed "il Moretto" (the Moorish one"), and of a Florentine woman, Maria Antonia Rapacciuoli. Her father was in the service of castrato Francesco ("Cecchino") De Castris (c1650 – 1724), who stood as the newborn girl's godfather along with famous soprano as the godmother: Tesi was evidently named after the latter. Luciano Tesi
Luciano Tesi (; born 10 December 1931) is an Italian veterinarian, amateur astronomer, discoverer of many minor planets, and director of the San Marcello Pistoiese Observatory. In 1980, he founded the "Amateur Group of Pistoiese Mountain" ( it, Gruppo Astrofili Montagna Pistoiese). Later on, this resulted in the construction of the Pistoia Mountains Astronomical Observatory. As the director of the observatory, he has collaborated with many discoverers in following up near-Earth objects and in finding minor planets since 1994. The near-Earth object and Amor asteroid, 15817 Lucianotesi, discovered by Andrea Boattini and Maura Tombelli at San Marcello Pistoiese in 1994, was named in his honor. Fanitesi Niu (born 11 August 2001) is a Tonga international rugby league footballer who plays as a or for The Dolphins in the National Rugby League. He previously played for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL. Background Niu was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Mauro Antonio Tesi
Mauro Antonio Tesi (; January 15, 1730 – July 18, 1766), or, as he is sometimes called, after the name given him by his patron and admirer, Francesco Algarotti, "Il Maurino", was an Italian painter of the late- Baroque period, active mainly in Bologna. He is also considered an early proponent of the Neo-classical style. Biography He was born in Montalbano near Modena. He was largely self-taught and worked as both a decorative and an architectural painter in churches and both public and private buildings in Bologna and Florence. In 1764, he completed the nave ceiling frescoes for the small church of San Leone, Pistoia.
