Tishreen Sports Club ( ar, نادي تشرين الرياضي) is a Syrian professional football club based in Latakia. The club was founded in 1947 and currently competes in the Syrian Premier League. Its home ground is Al-Assad Stadium. Tishreen is the most successful and respected Syrian football club today, winning five league titles. History In 1946, Al-Sahel Club was the first officially licensed club in Lattakia, and it was necessary to have another club in order to enhance the spirit of competition and advance the level of sport in Lattakia. In 1947, the Al-Jalaa Club was founded. Al-Assad Stadium ( ar, ملعب الأسد) is a multi-purpose stadium in Latakia, Syria. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 28,000 spectators. The stadium was opened in 1978 and completely renovated in 2004. 2021 AFC Cup
The 2021 AFC Cup was the 18th edition of the AFC Cup, Asia's secondary club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The winners of the tournament automatically qualified for the 2022 AFC Champions League, entering the qualifying play-offs, if they had not qualified through their domestic performance.
