Seinäjoki Railway Station
The Seinäjoki railway station ( fi, Seinäjoen rautatieasema) is located in the centre of city of Seinäjoki, Finland, at Valtionkatu 1. The current station building was built in the 1970s, and it is located in the same building as the bus station. In the 2000s, the building was renovated as a modern travel centre. Seinäjoki is a significant crossing point, with connections toward Haapamäki, Helsinki, Vaasa and Oulu. The track to Kaskinen only has cargo traffic nowadays. Ylistaro Railway Station
The Ylistaro railway station ( fi, Ylistaron rautatieasema, sv, Ylistaro järnvägsstation) is a closed station located in the city of Seinäjoki (formerly the municipality of Ylistaro), Finland, in the village of Ylistaron asemanseutu. It was located along the Seinäjoki–Vaasa railway, and its neighboring stations at the time of closing were Seinäjoki in the east and Isokyrö in the west. History Ylistaro was opened under the name of Kaukola at the same time as the rest of the Seinäjoki–Vaasa line, on 29 September 1883. Just five years later, it was elevated from the status of a ''pysäkki'' to that of a class V station, and was renamed Ylistaro after the municipality in which it was located. The Sm3 ''Pendolino'' (originally branded as Pendolino S220, and usually referred to simply as the Pendolino) is a class of high-speed body-tilting trains operated by VR Group. It is a member of the Pendolino train family; its design is based on the ETR 460. The first two trainsets were assembled in Finland by Rautaruukki- Transtech in the mid-1990s. The rest of the series of eighteen EMUs were built by Fiat Ferroviaria (later Alstom) between 2000 and 2006. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks).
