Terry Sawchuk Trophy
The Terry Sawchuk Trophy was an annual award presented by the Central Hockey League to recognize the top goaltenders on the league's best defensive team. The trophy was given to the goaltender(s) of the team allowing the fewest goals during the regular season. Central Professional Hockey League
The Central Professional Hockey League was a minor professional ice hockey league that operated in the United States from 1963 to 1984. Named the Central Hockey League for the 1968–69 season and forward, it was owned and operated by the National Hockey League and served as a successor to the Eastern Professional Hockey League, which had folded after the 1962–63 season. Four of the CHL's initial franchises were, in fact, relocations of the previous year's EPHL teams, while the fifth came from the International Hockey League. Its founding president was Jack Adams, who served in the role until his death in 1968. The CHL's championship trophy was called the Adams Cup in his honor. Robert Holland (ice Hockey)
Robert "Robbie" Holland (born September 10, 1957) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played 44 games in the National Hockey League with the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 1979–80 and 1980–81 seasons. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1977 to 1987, was spent in the minor leagues. Early life and education Holland was born in Montreal. As a youth, he played in the 1970 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Ville-Émard. Kelly Hrudey (; born January 13, 1961) is a Canadian former National Hockey League ice hockey goaltender. He is a current hockey broadcaster with Sportsnet as an analyst for ''Hockey Night in Canada'' and the Calgary Flames as a commentator. Kenneth George Ellacott (born March 3, 1959) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Ellacott played in the National Hockey League for the Vancouver Canucks in 1982–83. He played 12 games in the NHL, spending most of his professional career in the minor professional Central Hockey League with the Dallas Black Hawks and Montana Magic. Paul Douglas Harrison (born February 11, 1955) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played in the National Hockey League with the Minnesota North Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Buffalo Sabres between 1975 and 1982, accumulating a record of 28-59–9. The Indianapolis Checkers were a minor league professional ice hockey team from Indianapolis, Indiana. The Checkers' home arena was the Fairgrounds Coliseum from 1981 to 1985 and Market Square Arena from 1979 to 1981 and again from 1985 to 1987. The team originated in the Central Hockey League where they played from 1979 to 1984. The Checkers filled a void left by the departed Indianapolis Racers of the World Hockey Association. Richard Brodeur
Richard "King Richard", "Kermit" Brodeur (born September 15, 1952), is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Brodeur was born in Longueuil, Quebec and grew up in Montreal, Quebec. Playing career Brodeur was selected in the 1972 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders, but chose instead to play in the World Hockey Association with the Quebec Nordiques, for whom he played for seven seasons. The 1975–76 season was his best; he played 69 games and won 44 of them. In 1976–77, he helped his team win the Avco World Trophy. James "Jim" Park (born June 22, 1952) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender and the creator of a series of instructional tapes for hockey goaltenders entitled "The Puck Stops Here" (1986). Early life Park was born in Toronto. As a youth, he played in the 1964 and 1965 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Don Mills, and then the Toronto Shopsy's team.
