Terrible Terry McGovern (March 9, 1880 – February 22, 1918) was an American professional boxer who held the World Bantamweight and Featherweight Championships. He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania as John Terrence McGovern. Through most of his career he was managed by Sam H. Harris, who remained a lifelong friend. Many boxing historians considered McGovern's greatest attributes his punching ability and signature charges rather than his boxing style or defensive technique. Terence McGovern (born May 11, 1942) is an American actor, television broadcaster, radio personality and acting instructor. He is best known as the original voice of Disney character Launchpad McQuack from ''DuckTales'' and spin-off ''Darkwing Duck''. He was also elected into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame as a member of its Class of 2008. Career McGovern was schooled at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh with a double major in journalism and English, and later studied acting with Stella Adler and Milton Katselas. McGovern worked at KDKA radio and KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh from 1965 to 1969, leaving for KSFO in San Francisco during the summer of 1969. At age 30, McGovern traveled to Los Angeles, California, to further pursue his entry into acting. He started his career in films with George Lucas, in Lucas' inaugural film, ''THX 1138''. Terry McGovern was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in 1950s and 1960s. He played for Balmain, Newtown and Manly-Warringah in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition. Playing career McGovern made his first grade debut for Balmain in 1953. In 1955, McGovern finished as joint top try scorer for the club with 8 tries. McGovern scored 2 tries for Balmain in the 1956 preliminary final against South Sydney as the club reached the grand final ending Souths dominance of appearing in grand finals throughout the 1950s.
