Terry James Lee (born March 13, 1962) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) first baseman. He played during two seasons for the Cincinnati Reds. He was signed by the Reds as an amateur free agent in . Lee played his first professional season with their Class A (Short Season) Eugene Emeralds in , and his last season with the Triple-A affiliates of the Cleveland Indians (Colorado Springs Sky Sox) and Minnesota Twins (Portland Beavers) in . A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3. Also called first sacker or cornerman, the first baseman is ideally a tall player who throws left-handed and possesses good flexibility and quick reflexes. The Portland Beavers was the name of separate minor league baseball teams, which represented Portland, Oregon, in the Pacific Coast League (PCL). The team was established in 1903, the first year of the PCL.
