Terry Kearns
Terry Kearns (1945 – 15 October 2020) was an Irish Gaelic footballer. At club level he played with St Vincent's and was an All-Ireland Championship winner with the Meath county team. Playing career A member of the St Vincent's club in Ardcath, County Meath, Kearns was full-back with the Meath minor football team for three successive seasons from 1961 until 1963. He was centre-back on the county's junior team that won the Leinster Junior Championship in 1964, before joining the under-21 team the following year. Kearns first played for the Meath senior team in a challenge game in December 1964; however, it would be 1967 before he became a regular member of the team. That year he claimed his first Leinster Senior Championship medal before winning an All-Ireland Championship medal at midfield after a 1-9 to 0-9 defeat of Cork in the final. The Cork county football team represents Cork in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Cork GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Munster Senior Football Championship and the National Football League. The 1967 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 81st staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 23 April 1967 and ended on 24 September 1967. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Mayo in the Connacht semi-final. On 24 September 1967, Meath won the championship following a 1-9 to 0-9 defeat of Cork in the All-Ireland final. The 1970 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 84th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 10 May 1970 and ended on 27 September 1970. Kerry entered the championship as the defending champions. On 27 September 1970, Kerry won the championship following a 2-19 to 0-18 defeat of Meath in the All-Ireland final. This was their 22nd All-Ireland title, their second in succession. Leinster Senior Football Championship
The Leinster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Leinster Championship and shortened to Leinster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Leinster Junior Football Championship
The Leinster Junior Football Championship is a junior "knockout" competition in the game of Gaelic football played in the province of Leinster in Ireland. The series of games are organised by the Leinster Council. The competition began in 1906, with Wicklow winning during the inaugural year. The most successful county to date is Dublin who have won on twenty occasions. The current (2017) Leinster junior football champions are Meath. The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC) ( ga, Craobh Shinsir Peile na hÉireann) is the premier competition in Gaelic football. An annual tournament organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), it is contested by the county teams in All-Ireland.
