Terry Flanagan (born 11 June 1989) is a British professional boxer. He held the WBO lightweight title from 2015 to 2017, becoming the first Englishman to win a world title in that weight class. He won the Prizefighter lightweight tournament in 2012, held the British lightweight title in 2014, and has challenged once for the WBO light-welterweight title in 2018. As of November 2020, he is ranked as the world's number twelve best active light-welterweight by BoxRec. Professional career Super-featherweight From Ancoats in Manchester, Terry Flanagan had his first professional fight in 2009, beating Danny McDermid on points. After winning his first 12 fights between 2009 and 2012, he beat Dougie Curran in May 2012 to take the vacant English super featherweight title. Terry Flanagan (born 1950) was an Irish soccer player who played for Bohemians, Dundalk and Thurles Town during the 1970s. Flanagan was top scorer in the 1973-74 League of Ireland season with 18 league goals from 26 games. His total for that season was 29 goals from 43 appearances in all competitions. He made three appearances for Bohemians in European competition, scoring once at Ibrox in the European Cup. In November 1975 he was transfer listed. He then signed for Dundalk F.C. and scored on his debut. In his three seasons at Oriel Park he scored a total of 33 goals including the winner in a 1977-78 European Cup Winners' Cup clash with Hajduk Split. Terry Flanagan (ice Hockey)
Terry Flanagan (October 17, 1956 - December 29, 1991) was a Canadian ice hockey player and coach. Flanagan played four years with the New Hampshire Wildcats men's ice hockey team, and was an assistant coach at Bowling Green State University for seven seasons before succumbing to cancer. Two major awards are named in Flanagan's honour: The Terry Flanagan Award is presented annually by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) to honour an assistant coach's career body of work; and the Terry Flanagan Memorial Award was an annual award presented by the now defunct Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) to the player who best demonstrated perseverance, dedication and courage while overcoming severe adversity as voted by the coaches of each CCHA team.
