Terry A. Willkom (born February 23, 1943, in Stanley, Wisconsin) is a former member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. He graduated from McDonell Central Catholic High School in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Career Willkom was a member of the Assembly from 1970 to 1976. Stanley, Wisconsin
Stanley is a city in Chippewa and Clark counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 3,608 at the 2010 census. Of this, 3,602 were in Chippewa County, and 6 in Clark County. History Stanley was settled and platted in 1881 when the Wisconsin Central Railroad built its line through the area. The town is named for Lemuel C. Stanley, a merchant and railroad man from Chippewa Falls who was involved in that first plat. The main early businesses were a small steam sawmill and some charcoal kilns built by the York Iron Company in 1887. In 1891 the Northwestern Lumber Company from Eau Claire started a big lumber mill at Stanley. Starting in the 1860s, Northwestern had sawed its lumber at its company town Porter's Mills, on the Chippewa River four miles below Eau Claire. But by the early 1890s Northwestern had exhausted its holdings of timber easy to drive down the river. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. McDonell Central Catholic High School
McDonell Central Catholic High School is a Roman Catholic high school in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin in the Diocese of La Crosse. It is the only Catholic high school in Chippewa County. History The first McDonell Catholic High School was built in 1907, on a site overlooking downtown Chippewa Falls. It is listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places. Later this building was vacant for a period after the diocese relocated the high school to a larger, more suburban facility. It was purchased by the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association and converted in 2000 into the Heyde Center for the Arts. McDonell Central Catholic High School is located at 1316 Bel Air Boulevard. Chippewa Falls is a city located on the Chippewa River in Chippewa County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 14,778 in the 2021 census. Chippewa County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is named for the historic Chippewa people, also known as the Ojibwe, who long controlled this territory. As of the 2020 census, the population was 66,297. Its county seat is Chippewa Falls. The county was founded in 1845 from Crawford County, then in the Wisconsin Territory, and organized in 1853.
