January – March * January 1 — Malik Mukhtar Hussain, was a prominent licensed organizer of Shia processions and majalis in Chiniot. He was gunned down in an Imambargah on 31 December 2012 by six armed men. After few days, an injured 16 years old Moazam Ali martyred. Nanga Parbat
Nanga Parbat ( ur, ) (; ), known locally as Diamer () which means “king of the mountains”, is the ninth-highest mountain on Earth, its summit at above sea level. 2013 Peshawar Mosque Attack
On 20 June 2013, a suicide bomber blew himself up at a Shiite mosque, killing 15 people and injuring over 20. The attack happened in the Shiite area known as Gulshan Colony. The attacker is believed to have been a Sunni Muslim. Three people were suspected of carrying out the attacks. The perpetrators first gunned down a police officer and a security guard, before the suicide bomber went into the mosque. There were reportedly around 300 people worshiping inside the mosque. The president of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, commented about the attack saying, "Such cowardly and heinous acts by the militants cannot weaken the nation's resolve to pursue its struggle against militancy." Shergarh, Mardan
Shergarh ( ur, , ps, شېر ګړھ) is a town in Takht Bhai tehsil of Mardan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It located 12 km from Takht Bhai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Overview and history The literal meaning of Shergarh both in Urdu and Pashto language is "home of the lions". The town is now a Union Council of the Takht Bhai tehsil of Mardan District. 2013 Mardan Funeral Bombing
On 18 June 2013, a suicide bomber detonated his vest at a funeral in Shergarh , Mardan in northwest Pakistan, killing at least 34 people and injuring over 60 people. The attack took place at a funeral prayer service for Abdullah Khan, who owned a compressed natural gas station. One of the people killed in the attack was Imran Khan Mohmand, who was previously an independent MPA. Bombing and aftermath The bomb blast took place on 18 June 2013 during a funeral procession for a local businessman Haji Abdullah, who was shot a day before by unknown assailants. Imran Khan Mohmand , previously an independent candidate , but then part of the PTI party was injured and then later succumbed to his injuries. June 2013 Quetta Attacks
On 15 June 2013, a series of bombings and a subsequent siege resulted in the deaths of 26 people and injuries to dozens more. On the same day, separatist militants attacked and demolished the historic Quaid-e-Azam Residency in Ziarat. Attacks The attacks began with the detonation of an explosive device attached to a bus carrying students from Sardar Bahadur Khan Women's University. The blast completely destroyed the vehicle, killing 14 women and injuring 19 others. A short time later, a suicide bomber struck at the nearby Bolan Medical Complex, where victims of the initial bombing were being treated. 2013 Quaid-e-Azam Residency Attack
On June 15, 2013, the historical Quaid-e-Azam Residency, which housed the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, in his last two months and ten days, was attacked and completely burnt down by militants belonging to the Balochistan Liberation Army. The reconstruction work was completed and the reconstructed Ziarat Residency was inaugurated on Independence Day which is on 14 Aug , 2014. Attack Four to five terrorists riding on two motorcycles attacked the heritage site immediately after midnight on June 15, 2013. They fired three rockets from an unknown location, then stormed the building using assault rifles and hand grenades. 7 May 2013 Syed Janan Election Rally Bombing
The 7 May 2013 bombing at an election rally is the deadliest of a series of attacks that hit the town of Doaba in the district of Hangu which has a history of sectarian violence. Recently this region became a flashpoint for violence between Sunni and Shiite Muslims as Pakistan prepares to hold a general election and provincial elections on 11 May, which will mark the country's first democratic transition of power. A suicide bomber attacked a rally for Syed Janan, a candidate of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party. Mufti Syed Janan was reportedly the main target but he left the scene with minor injuries.
