Ron Gilbert (born January 1, 1964) is an American video-game designer, programmer, and producer. His games are generally focused on interactive story-telling, and he is arguably best known for his work on several LucasArts adventure games, including '' Maniac Mansion'' and the first two '' Monkey Island'' games. While a student in 1983, he co-wrote Graphics BASIC and he then worked on action games for HESware, which went out of business. He afterwards joined Lucasfilm Games (later LucasArts), and was given the opportunity to develop his own games. He invented SCUMM, a technology used in many subsequent games. After leaving LucasArts, Gilbert co-founded the children's gaming company Humongous Entertainment in 1992 and its sister company Cavedog Entertainment in 1995, where he produced games such as ''Total Annihilation'' for adults. La Grande, Oregon
La Grande is a city in Union County, Oregon, United States. Originally named "Brownsville," it was forced to change its name because that name was being used for a city in Linn County. Located in the Grande Ronde Valley, the city's name comes from an early French settler, Charles Dause, who often used the phrase "La Grande" to describe the area's beauty. Shelley M. Day (born April 16, 1957) is a former Video game producer, producer of video games. She began her career in 1985, at Electronic Arts. Day also worked for Accolade (company), Accolade, Taito and LucasArts before founding Humongous Entertainment together with colleague Ron Gilbert. She was the producer on ''Grand Prix Circuit (video game), Grand Prix Circuit'' and ''The Duel: Test Drive II'' at Accolade, and ''Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge'' and ''Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis'' at Lucasarts. She created the ''Putt-Putt (series), Putt-Putt'' series' eponymous protagonist as a bedtime story for her son, which later became a popular series of children's video games.
