Terrence Edwards
Terrence Edwards (born April 20, 1979) is a former Canadian football wide receiver who played for nine seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. He was originally signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2003. He played college football at Georgia. He is the younger brother of Robert Edwards, a former first-round pick of the New England Patriots and a former member of the Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes. College career Like his older brother, Terrence Edwards attended the University of Georgia, where he played from 1999 to 2002. In his career, he caught 204 passes for 3,093 yards and 30 touchdowns. He left Georgia holding the SEC record for career receiving yards, a record that stood until Jordan Matthews broke it in 2013. As of 2023, his 204 receptions rank tenth all-time in the conference. The 2006 CFL season is considered to be the 53rd season in modern-day Canadian football, although it is officially the 49th Canadian Football League season. 2005 Montreal Alouettes Season
The 2005 Montreal Alouettes finished second place in the East Division with a 10–8 record. This was a disappointing season, by Alouettes standards, but they made it to the Grey Cup the hard way. They hosted the East Semi-Final and defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Olympic Stadium, 30–14. They then traveled to Toronto to face the Argonauts at the Skydome, and they won 33–17, to advance to the Grey Cup. After a hard fought game they lost to the Edmonton Eskimos, 38–35 in what was only the second ever Grey Cup to be won in overtime. The 2012 Winnipeg Blue Bombers season was the 55th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 80th overall. The Blue Bombers looked to continue on the success of the 2011 season, in which they made it all the way to the Grey Cup game. However, the team slipped to 3rd place in the East Division and missed the playoffs, finishing with a 6–12 record. The team was supposed to play their first season in their new stadium, Investors Group Field, but ongoing construction delays have moved its opening to the beginning of the 2013 season.
