Terrell is a community in Catawba County, North Carolina, United States. For the 2010 census, it was included within the Lake Norman of Catawba CDP. Geography Terrell is located at within area code 828, ZIP code 28682, and FIPS place code 67180. It sits at an elevation of 289 m (948 ft). The community center lies at the intersection of North Carolina Highway 150 and Sherrills Ford Road. The widening of NC 150 through Terrell has been delayed numerous times and is currently scheduled for construction in the late 2020s. Neighboring communities include Sherrills Ford to the north and west, Mooresville to the east and Denver to the southwest. Catawba County is a county in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 160,610. Its county seat is Newton, and its largest city is Hickory. The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) is a drag racing governing body, which sets rules in drag racing and hosts events all over the United States and Canada. With over 40,000 drivers in its rosters, the NHRA claims to be the largest motorsports sanctioning body in the world. The 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup Series was the 55th season of professional stock car racing in the United States and the 32nd modern-era Cup Series season. The season began on February 8 at the Daytona International Speedway with the Budweiser Shootout and ended on November 16 at Homestead-Miami Speedway with the Ford 400. Despite only winning one race throughout the whole season, Matt Kenseth, driving the No.17 Ford for Roush Racing, was strongly consistent following the lone win, and was crowned the Winston Cup champion. His only win came in the third race of the 36 race season. Chevrolet took home the NASCAR Manufacturers' Championship after capturing 19 wins and 264 points over second-place finisher Dodge, who had nine wins and 203 points.
