Terrebonne, Quebec
Terrebonne () is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It is located in the North Shore region of the Montreal area, north of Laval across the Rivière des Mille-Îles. This city is divided in three sectors, namely Lachenaie, La Plaine and Terrebonne. In the past, these sectors were distinct cities, but, on 22 August 2001, they merged under the name of ''Terrebonne''. According to the 2021 Canadian Census Terrebonne has a population of 119,944, making it Montreal's third largest suburb and the largest city on the North Shore. History The town of Lachenaie, which was founded in 1683 by Lord Charles Aubert de Lachenaye, is the oldest of the three towns that were merged. Terrebonne (electoral District)
Terrebonne is a federal electoral district in the Canadian province of Quebec. It was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 1997, when it was dissolved in an electoral redistribution. It was reconstituted as an electoral district again beginning with the 2015 election. History The riding was originally created by the British North America Act of 1867 which preserved existing electoral districts in Lower Canada. It was abolished in 1996 into Repentigny and Terrebonne—Blainville. It was recreated during the 2012 federal electoral redistribution from parts of Terrebonne—Blainville (51%) and Montcalm (49%), and consists solely of the city of Terrebonne. Terrebonne Parish ( ; French: ''Paroisse de Terrebonne'') is a parish located in the southern part of the U.S. state of Louisiana. At the 2010 census, the population was 111,860, and 110,461 in 2019. In 2020, its population declined to 109,580. The parish seat is Houma. The parish was founded in 1822. Terrebonne Parish is part of the Houma-Thibodaux metropolitan statistical area. It is the fifth-largest parish in the state in terms of land area, and it has been a center of Cajun culture since the 18th century. More than 10% of its residents speak French at home. Ray Authement, who was the fifth president of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, serving from 1974 to 2008 and the longest-serving president of a public university in the United States, was born in rural Terrebonne Parish in 1928, near Chauvin. Terrebonne—Blainville was a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1997 until 2015. It was created in 1996 out of parts of Blainville—Deux-Montagnes, Repentigny and Joliette ridings. The 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution saw the riding abolished into Terrebonne, Thérèse-De Blainville and Mirabel. Geography The riding contains the towns of Blainville et Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines in the region of Laurentides, and the town of Terrebonne in Lanaudière. Terrebonne is a provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It consists of most but not all of the city of Terrebonne. Terrebonne is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Deschutes County, Oregon, United States. It is part of the Bend, Oregon Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,257 at the 2010 census. Geography Terrebonne is located in northeastern Deschutes County along U.S. Route 97. Terrebonne is a former townsite on the Clearwater River in Terrebonne Township, Red Lake County, Minnesota, United States. It is along State Highway 92 ( MN 92) and County Road 12.
