A theatre director or stage director is a professional in the theatre field who oversees and orchestrates the mounting of a theatre production such as a play, opera, dance, drama, musical theatre performance, etc. by unifying various endeavors and aspects of production. The director's function is to ensure the quality and completeness of theatre production and to lead the members of the creative team into realizing their artistic vision for it. The director thereby collaborates with a team of creative individuals and other staff to coordinate research and work on all the aspects of the production which includes the Technical and the Performance aspects. Teater Ibsen (from 1975 to 1991 Telemark Teater) is a theatre in Skien in Vestfold og Telemark, Norway. The theatre was established in 1975 as Telemark Teater, and changed its name to Teater Ibsen in 1991. The theatre serves as regional theatre for the counties of Telemark and Vestfold. Anne Gullestad
Anne Gullestad (26 October 1925 – 1 April 1998) was a Norwegian actress and theatre director. She was born in Kvinesdal, and finished her secondary education in 1945. She made her stage debut in 1950 at Den Nationale Scene. She co-founded Sogn og Fjordane Teater in 1977 and was director there from 1980 to 1988. From 1988 to 1994 she directed Riksteatret, and from 1995 Hordaland Teater. She was married to lawyer Wilhelm Jakob Haaland (1925–1995), brother of Arild Haaland. In 1989 she was decorated as a Knight, First Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav. Bente Erichsen
Bente Erichsen (born 7 January 1949) is a Norwegian culture director and the current (and inaugural) Director of the Nobel Peace Center. A former journalist and commercials producer, Erichsen started her career as feature film producer in 1979. By 1998 she had produced 17 features, in addition to directing ''Over grensen'' (''The Feldmann Case'', 1987) and ''People and Robbers of Cardemom Town'' (1988), as well as a number short films. Erichsen was also the founder of the Amanda Award (The Norwegian film award) and a co-founder of Heddaprisen (The Norwegian Theatre Award). From 1991 to 1993 Erichsen headed the culture programme of the 1994 Olympic Winter Games in Norway.
