Teresita Luna
Mirtha María Teresita Luna (born 19 February 1964) is an Argentine politician. Formerly a member of the Justicialist Party, she served as Vice Governor of La Rioja Province from 2007 to 2011, and later as a National Senator for La Rioja from 2011 to 2017. In 2019, she left the Justicialist Party and became part of the Cambiemos coalition. Since 2021, she has been a member of the provincial legislature of La Rioja, a position she previously held from 2005 to 2007. Early life and education Luna was born in Mendoza on 19 February 1964, and grew up in Chamical, La Rioja. She studied to become a literature professor at the Instituto Superior de Formación Docente Albino Sánchez Barros, in the City of La Rioja. Legislature Of La Rioja
The Legislature of La Rioja ( es, Legislatura de la provincia de La Rioja), also sometimes referred to as the Legislative Function (''Función Legislativa''), is the unicameral legislative body of La Rioja Province, in Argentina. It comprises 36 legislators, elected in each of the 18 departments of La Rioja. Half of the legislature is renewed every two years. The Legislature was established by the first provincial constitution, adopted in 1855, and convened for the first time on 18 March 1856. According to the provincial constitution, the legislature must count with one member per 4,000 inhabitants. Out of the 18 departments, 12 elect a single legislator, and thus employ the first-past-the-post system. 2011 Argentine General Election
Argentina held national presidential and legislative elections on Sunday, 23 October 2011. Incumbent president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner of the Front for Victory won via landslide, with 54.11% of votes against Hermes Binner of Broad Progressive Front, she also secured a second term in office after the Front for Victory won just over half of the seats in the National Congress. María Florencia López (born 26 February 1980) is an Argentine politician who has been Vice Governor of La Rioja since 2019, under Governor Ricardo Quintela. She previously served as '' intendenta'' (mayor) of Arauco from 2015 to 2019, and as a member of the provincial legislature for Arauco from 2011 to 2015. López belongs to the Justicialist Party. Early life López was born on 26 February 1980 in the city of La Rioja. Her family moved to Aimogasta when she was six years old, and she finished high school there. In 1997, she moved to San Miguel de Tucumán to study law at the National University of Tucumán; she graduated at age 22 with the best average score among women in the year 2001. Ricardo Clemente Quintela (born 16 March 1960) is an Argentine Justicialist Party politician who is currently Governor of La Rioja Province, since 11 December 2019. He was previously Mayor of the City of La Rioja from 2003 to 2015, as well as a member of the provincial legislature during two non-consecutive terms and a National Deputy from 1997 to 2003.
