Teodoro Waldner
Teodoro Guillermo Waldner (1927 – 2014) was an Argentine Air Force commander who served as Air Force Chief of the General Staff from 1983 to 1985. Falklands War
The Falklands War ( es, link=no, Guerra de las Malvinas) was a ten-week undeclared war between Argentina and the United Kingdom in 1982 over two British dependent territories in the South Atlantic: the Falkland Islands and its territorial dependency, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The conflict began on 2 April, when Argentina invaded and occupied the Falkland Islands, followed by the invasion of South Georgia the next day. On 5 April, the British government dispatched a naval task force to engage the Argentine Navy and Air Force before making an amphibious assault on the islands. Muammar Gaddafi became the ''de facto'' leader of Libya on 1 September 1969 after leading a group of young Libyan Army officers against King Idris I in a bloodless coup d'état. After the king had fled the country, the Revolutionary Command Council (RCC) headed by Gaddafi abolished the monarchy and the old constitution and established the Libyan Arab Republic, with the motto "freedom, socialism and unity". After coming to power, the RCC government initiated a process of directing funds toward providing education, health care and housing for all. Public education in the country became free and primary education compulsory for both sexes. Medical care became available to the public at no cost, but providing housing for all was a task the RCC government was unable to complete. Augusto Hughes
Augusto Jorge Hughes (1931–1993) was an Argentine Air Force pilot. He was the second son of the Scottish descendant William Hughes and Josefa Settecase. He was born in Rosario, Santa Fé. A J Hughes entered the Argentine Military Flying School "Escuela de Aviación Militar" in 1948, located in Córdoba. Over his flying career, he flew the British Gloster Meteor aircraft while he was a lieutenant and later on, the American Sabre F 86. In 1966 he was sent as a captain to the US in order to bring the firsts A4B Skyhawks, which were destined to the 5th Air Brigade "V Brigada Aérea" in Villa Reynolds, San Luis. Ernesto Horacio Crespo (8 December 1929 – 6 March 2019) was an Argentine Brigadier General (Lieutenant General) and former Chief of Staff of the Argentine Air Force. Early life In 1982, Crespo, who was the commander of the Fourth Air Force Brigade at the time, was commanded to create, deploy, and command the South Air Force ( es, Fuerza Aérea Sur); the military organization that would control both Air Force and Argentine Navy air units that would later take part in the Falklands War.
