Teodor Keko
Teodor Keko (1958–2002) was an Albanian writer, journalist, and politician. Life Keko was born in the Albanian capital, Tirana, on 2 September 1958, to cinematographer parents Endri and Xhanfise Keko. He studied at the Qemal Stafa High School, in Tirana, Albania. In 1979 he started his studies for Albanian language and literature in the University of Tirana, where he graduated in 1983. During his studies he met his wife Xhulieta, who studied English language and literature and later became a primary school teacher. ''Drita'' (''Drita'' meaning "the light" in English) is an Albanian literary magazine published by the Association of the Young Modern Artists of Albania ( sq, Shoqëria e Artistëve të Rinj Modernë). ''Drita'' was one of the first magazines in the Albanian language. It has been published for 127 years with some interruptions. History: 1883-1922 ''Drita'' was one of the first newspapers published in Albanian. It was initially printed in Istanbul, Turkey (then Ottoman Empire) in 1883 for the first time. The Central Committee for Defending Albanian Rights, the Society for the Publication of Albanian Writings and their president, Sami Frashëri, were the main contributors of the magazine, however their identity was secret at that time. Besnik Bajram Mustafaj (born 1958) is an Albanian writer and diplomat. Career Mustafaj is a former Albanian ambassador to France. He became 62nd foreign minister of Albania on 11 September 2005 when the government of Prime Minister Sali Berisha took office. He resigned on 24 April 2007 and was replaced by Lulzim Basha on 25 April. His resignation came after strong disagreements with Berisha. Further disagreements with the prime minister led to Mustafaj's withdrawal from politics in May 2009.
