Tenth Doctor Comic Stories
''The Tenth Doctor'' comic stories is a wide range of adventures featuring the tenth incarnation of the Doctor, the Time Lord protagonist of the popular sci-fi series, ''Doctor Who''. The range had the unprecedented claim of appearing in no less than four regularly published titles: the long established ''Doctor Who Magazine'', the more recently launched Doctor Who Adventures, aimed at a younger audience, the Doctor Who: Battles in Time magazine (a title used to support the sale of an expanding number of collectable trading cards (which accompany the magazine or could be purchased separately)), and Doctor Who, a US monthly title launched in 2009. In 2010, the comic stories passed onto the Eleventh Doctor. The Doctor (Doctor Who)
The Doctor is the title character in the long-running BBC science fiction television programme '' Doctor Who''. Since the show's inception in 1963, the character has been portrayed by thirteen lead actors. In the programme, "the Doctor" is the alias assumed by a millennia-old humanoid alien, a Time Lord who travels through space and time in the TARDIS, frequently with companions. The transition to each succeeding actor is explained within the show's narrative through the plot device of " regeneration", a biological function of the Time Lord race that allows a change of cellular structure and appearance with recovery following a fatal injury. Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart
Brigadier Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, generally referred to simply as the Brigadier, is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', created by writers Mervyn Haisman and Henry Lincoln and played by Nicholas Courtney. He is one of the founders of UNIT (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce, later Unified Intelligence Taskforce), an international organisation that defends Earth from alien threats, and serves as commander of the British contingent. Presented at first as reluctant to accept the continuing aid of the Doctor, over time the Brigadier became one of the Doctor's greatest friends and his principal ally in defending Earth. Mike Tucker (special Effects Artist)
Mike Tucker (born in South Wales) is a Welsh special effects expert who worked for many years at the BBC Television Visual Effects Department, and now works as an Effects Supervisor for his own company, The Model Unit. He is also the author of a variety of spin-offs relating to the television series '' Doctor Who'' and novelisations based on episodes of the television series '' Merlin''. He sometimes co-writes with Robert Perry. Effects work Tucker's early work for the BBC was as a holiday relief assistant on the 1982 history series ''Timewatch''. Dan McDaid () is a British comic book writer and artist. Career McDaid made his debut in '' Doctor Who Magazine'', after sending a sample strip to then editor Clayton Hickman. His debut work for DWM was as writer of ''The First'', a story where the Doctor meets Ernest Shackleton. He took part in Comic Book Resources' Comic Book Idol 2007, reaching the final three. He then teamed up with Glen Brunswick for a twelve-issue run on ''Jersey Gods'' for Image Comics.
