Tenny Svensson
Tenny Svensson (born 21 September 1952) is a former professional tennis player from Sweden. ''Biography'' Svensson played a 77-game opening round match against American John Andrews at the 1975 Wimbledon Championships, which he won 18–16 in the fifth set. The match went for 3 hours and 50 minutes. In his next match, against Onny Parun, he had to retire hurt in the second set. He made the quarter-finals in the men's doubles at the 1975 US Open, with Armistead Neely. Also in 1975, Svensson had a win over Björn Borg in a WCT tournament in Stockholm. In the 1978 Davis Cup competition he represented the Sweden team in three ties. This included the Europe Zone final against Hungary, which Sweden won. Scandinavian Indoor Championships
The Scandinavian Indoor Championships also known as the Scandinavian Covered Court Championships and the Scandinavian Indoor Open was a combined men's and women's tennis tournament held from 1936 through 1979. History The tournament was created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Swedish Lawn Tennis Association and was first held on the indoor courts of the B-Hall in Stockholm. The location of the tournament alternated between the four Scandinavian capitals Copenhagen, Helsinki, Stockholm and Oslo and the event was usually held at the end of January or the beginning of February. The competitors were mainly European players. The tournament struggled in Open Era, the mixed doubles event was cancelled in 1971, and the championships were abolished in 1979. The Sweden Davis Cup team represents Sweden in Davis Cup tennis competition and is governed by the Swedish Tennis Association. As of 2019, Sweden is the 5th most successful nation in Davis Cup history, having won the title 7 times, 6 of which have been recorded since 1981 when the tiered system and the World Group were created, which makes the Swedish team the most successful one in this modern period. World Championship Tennis (WCT) was a tour for professional male tennis players established in 1968 (the first players signed a contract at the end of 1967) and lasted until the emergence of the ATP Tour in 1990. A number of tennis tournaments around the world were affiliated with WCT and players were ranked in a special WCT ranking according to their results in those tournaments. The WCT had an important impact on the commercial development of tennis. It instituted a tie-breaker system and outfitted players with colored clothing, a radical idea at that time. Björn Rune Borg (; born 6 June 1956) is a Swedish former world No. 1 tennis player. Between 1974 and 1981, he became the first man in the Open Era to win 11 Grand Slam singles titles with six at the French Open and five consecutively at Wimbledon. Borg won four consecutive French Open titles (1978–81) and is 6–0 in French Open finals.
