Tennis were contested at the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing International Tennis Center, Beijing, China from September 24 to October 5, 1990. Tennis had team, doubles, and singles events for both men and women, as well as a mixed doubles competition, a total of seven events. Ji Seung-ho
Ji Seung-ho (born 1968) is a former professional tennis player from South Korea. Biography Ji won a bronze medal in the men's doubles at the 1990 Asian Games and was a gold medalist in the same event at the 1991 Summer Universiade. All of his ATP Tour main draw appearances came at his home tournament, the Korea Open in Seoul. He had his best performance at the 1991 Korea Open, where he had a win over Jim Grabb and with partner Chang Eui-jong made the semi-finals of the doubles, beating the top seeded pair Grant Connell and Glenn Michibata en route. He played in three Davis Cup ties for South Korea, across 1991 and 1992. Yayuk Basuki
Yayuk Basuki (born 30 November 1970) is an Indonesian former professional tennis player who is now a politician. She is the highest-ever ranked tennis player from Indonesia, having reached No. 19 in singles in the WTA rankings in October 1997. She retired from playing singles in 2000, but remained an active doubles player on the circuit until 2013. She sat in the Indonesian House of Representatives between 2014 and 2019. In January 2018, she was elected Chair of the Indonesian Olympian Association (IOA) for a four-year term. She unsuccessfully ran for re-election in 2019. Sporting career She began playing tennis at the age of seven and turned professional in 1990. Park Mal-sim (born 15 July 1965) is a South Korean former professional tennis player. Park appeared in seven ties for South Korea in the Federation Cup, four in 1988 and three in 1990. All of her matches were in singles and she won four rubbers, which included a win over Japan's top player Etsuko Inoue. Chen Li (tennis)
Chen Li (born 13 March 1971) is a former professional tennis player from China. Career Chen, who comes from the city of Xiangtan in Hunan, played on the WTA Tour in the 1990s and won one title, the doubles at the 1994 China Open, with Li Fang as her partner. In 1996 she was runner-up in the singles at the Nokia Open in Beijing. En route to the final, which she lost to Wang Shi-ting, she accounted for three seeded players, Francesca Lubiani, Yayuk Basuki and Sandrine Testud. She competed as a wildcard at the 1997 Australian Open and was beaten in the first round by Natalia Medvedeva. Rohit Rajpal
Rohit Rajpal (born 22 January 1971) is an Indian former professional tennis player. Rajpal played in one Davis Cup tie for India, against South Korea in 1990. He got his opportunity in a dead rubber reverse singles match, which he lost to Kim Jae-sik. In addition to his Davis Cup appearance, Rajpal was also a member of India's squad at the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing. In 2019, he replaced Mahesh Bhupathi as India's Davis Cup captain. Leander Adrian Paes ( ; born 17 June 1973) is an Indian former professional tennis player. He is regarded as one of the greatest doubles tennis players ever. Zeeshan Ali (born 1 January 1970) is a former Indian Davis Cup player who also competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. The right-hander reached his highest singles ATP ranking on 12 December 1988, when he became the number 126 of the world when he was still 3 weeks short of his 19th birthday.
