State Route 202 (SR 202) is 20.5 mile long north-south state highway in Decatur County, Tennessee, connecting Saltillo with Beacon via Decaturville. Route description SR 202 begins at an intersection with SR 69, just northeast of Saltillo. It heads north as Brooksie Thompson Road to pass through rural areas to have an intersection with SR 114. The highway continues to wind its way north to come to an intersection and become concurrent with US 641/SR 69. They then head north to enter Decaturville, where they bypass downtown to the west and have an intersection with SR 100. SR 202 then splits off onto Middleburg Road to leave Decaturville and head west to pass through wooded areas and farmland. It then has an intersection with SR 201, where it turns north along Beacon Road to cross a bridge over the Beech River and pass through the community of Beacon before coming to an end at an intersection with US 412/ SR 20. Saltillo, Tennessee
Saltillo is a town in Hardin County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 303 at the 2010 census. Saltillo is located on the left bank of the Tennessee River, about 12 miles north of Savannah. History Saltillo was founded by Thomas Shannon in October, 1822. He had left Davidson County, Tennessee and arrived in the area on a keelboat with enough provisions to last one year, two men, Colonel John Holland and Parkerson Mitchell, to assist him, and four black men. The men arrived via Tennessee River and built camp about half a mile from the river. Shannon's wife and seven children came by land with a drive of forty cattle. This cattle would serve as the starting point for Shannon to raise cattle for income, but the cattle were unable to adapt to the change in their environment and feeding. Decaturville is a town in and the county seat of Decatur County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 867 at the 2010 census. It is named for American Revolutionary War Commodore Stephen Decatur, Jr. Geography Decaturville is located at (35.582983, -88.122021). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 859 people, 349 households, and 214 families residing in the town. The population density was 511.0 people per square mile (197.4/km2). There were 396 housing units at an average density of 235.6 per square mile (91.0/km2). Decatur County, Tennessee
Decatur County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, the population was 11,435. Its county seat is Decaturville. History This county is named after naval hero Stephen Decatur, Jr., who gained national recognition in the First Barbary War, the Second Barbary War, and the War of 1812 by his leadership and achievements at sea. The county was created in November 1845 from the part of Perry County west of the Tennessee River in response to a petition by citizens on the west side of the river who lacked easy access to the county seat on the east side. In 2015, the Decatur County clerk of court and the entire staff of that office resigned, to express conscientious objection to the United States Supreme Court's ruling in ''Obergefell v. Hodges'', which would oblige the office to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. State Route 100 (SR 100) is a west–east state highway in both West Tennessee and Middle Tennessee that connects Whiteville with Nashville. It is long. Route description Hardeman County SR 100 begins as a primary highway in West Tennessee in Hardeman County at an intersection with US 64/SR 15 in Whiteville. Then SR 100 leaves Whiteville heading east but slightly northward before crossing the Hatchie River. SR 100 then has an intersection with SR 138 just north of Toone.
