Tennessee's 24th Senate district is one of 33 districts in the Tennessee Senate. It has been represented by Republican John Stevens since 2012, succeeding Democrat Roy Herron. Geography District 24 covers much of rural northern West Tennessee, including all of Benton, Carroll, Gibson, Henry, Obion, and Weakley Counties. Communities in the district include Martin, Paris, Union City, Humbolt, Milan, McKenzie, Trenton, Huntingdon, Medina, Camden, and Dresden. The district is located mostly within Tennessee's 8th congressional district, with a small section extending into the 7th district. Humboldt is a city in Gibson and Madison counties, Tennessee. The population was 8,452 at the 2010 census, a decline of 1,015 from 2000. It is the principal city of and is included in the Humboldt, Tennessee Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Jackson, Tennessee-Humboldt, Tennessee Combined Statistical Area. The 2020 United States presidential election in Tennessee was held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, as part of the 2020 United States presidential election in which all 50 states plus the District of Columbia participated. Tennessee voters chose electors to represent them in the Electoral College via a popular vote, pitting the Republican Party's nominee, incumbent President Donald Trump, and running mate Vice President Mike Pence against Democratic Party nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden, and his running mate California Senator Kamala Harris. Camden, Tennessee
Camden is a city in Benton County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 3,674 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Benton County. History Native Americans were living in the Camden area as early as the Archaic period (8000-1000 BC). A significant archaeological site has been excavated at nearby Eva (the actual site is now submerged under Kentucky Lake), uncovering evidence of semi-permanent habitation dating back 7000 years.
