Tender Defender
Tender Defender is an American three-piece punk rock band from Huntington, New York, United States. All three members of the band (bassist/vocalist Mattie Jo Canino, guitarist/vocalist Phil Douglas and drummer Pat Schramm) are ex-members of Latterman. Tender Defender is considered by many to be a continuation of Latterman. The band released their self-titled debut on Dead Broke Rekerds on March 3, 2016. Background Following the break-up of Latterman, the members of the band went on to start several new projects- most notably Iron Chic, RVIVR, Laura Stevenson & The Cans and Bridge and Tunnel. Following the break up, the band stayed in touch and saw each other regularly between touring and Douglas producing several projects for both Canino and Schramm. In 2011, Latterman began playing occasional reunion shows which instigated the conversation of new music. Huntington Station is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Huntington in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York. The population was 33,029 at the 2010 census. RVIVR
RVIVR is an American punk rock band from Olympia, Washington. The band tours frequently and their shows are characterised by energetic performances as well as defense of gender equality. They have released their studio albums and EPs as free downloads on Rumbletowne Records' website. History After the dissolution of New York band Latterman in 2007, Mattie Jo Canino moved to Olympia, Washington and with Erica Freas (vocals, guitar), Kevin Rainsberry (drums), and Nell Tallos (bass) formed RVIVR. Canino had felt that Latterman's political lyrics were being ignored by largely male audiences only interested in moshing. For RVIVR; Canino and Freas, in both songwriting and interviews, vocally ensure the message of gender and sociopolitical equality is at the heart of what the band does. Shellshag is an American two piece punk rock band, formed in 1997, that have released records on Don Giovanni Records, Mauled by Tigers, We Are Busy Bodies, Thrillhouse Records, Plan it X South, Dead Broke Records and their own imprint Starcleaner Records. Their first EP was recorded by Gary Young. Although they never kept careful track, it is estimated that the duo has played upwards of 1,980 shows since their humble beginnings in San Francisco's Mission District. Saint Vitus is a bar and music venue located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Opened in April 2011, the venue is known for its heavy metal atmosphere. Some notable metal bands that have played there include Pentagram and Black Anvil. In April 2014, the surviving members of Nirvana performed at Saint Vitus with Joan Jett and Kim Gordon. Laura Anne Stevenson (born April 25, 1984) is an American singer-songwriter from Long Island, New York, and formerly a keyboard player for the musical collective Bomb the Music Industry! Biography Stevenson was raised in Nassau County, New York. Her grandfather, Harry Simeone, was a successful pianist and composer whose works included "The Little Drummer Boy" and "Do You Hear What I Hear?". His wife, Margaret McCravy, was a singer for the jazz bandleader Benny Goodman. After leaving home for college, Stevenson began both playing guitar and writing songs. Growing up in Rockville Centre, Stevenson befriended members of the Arrogant Sons of Bitches. After they disbanded in 2005, she was appointed keyboard player for the lead singer Jeff Rosenstock's new project, Bomb the Music Industry!. The Town of Huntington is one of ten towns in Suffolk County, New York.
