Shona Language
Shona (; sn, chiShona) is a Bantu language of the Shona people of Zimbabwe. It was codified by the colonial government in the 1950s. According to ''Ethnologue'', Shona, comprising the Zezuru, Korekore and Karanga dialects, is spoken by about 7.5 million people. The Manyika dialect of Shona is listed separately by ''Ethnologue'', and is spoken by 1,025,000 people. The larger group of historically related languages—called Shona languages by linguists—also includes Ndau (Eastern Shona) and Kalanga (Western Shona). Instruction Shona is a written standard language with an orthography and grammar that was codified during the early 20th century and fixed in the 1950s. Tendai Chatara
Tendai Larry Chatara (born 28 February 1991) is an international cricketer who represents the Zimbabwe national cricket team. A tall, wiry fast bowler with appreciable pace and the ability to move the ball away from the right-hander, Chatara has risen quickly to prominence since his first-class debut for Mountaineers in 2009. Though he was not good academically in school, he is one of the most talented pace prospects of his country. Chatara is naturally athletic. He represented his home town Manicaland in 200 and 400 m events, before getting a call-up to cricket. Tendayi David Darikwa (born 13 December 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a right back for EFL Championship club Wigan Athletic. Born in England, he represents the Zimbabwe national team internationally. Tendayi ''(Samaita)'' Gahamadze (born July 3, 1959) is a Zimbabwean artist and songwriter. Background Tendayi Gahamadze was born at his parents' farm in Musengezi and went to Mkwasha Primary School. He went to Moleli for secondary education. In 1979, he left for the United Kingdom where he did his A levels. In 1982, he studied metallurgy in Germany. Career background Tendayi Gahamadze was a member of a school choir and learned to play instruments when he was in the UK. He was fascinated by the sound of Mbira but did not expect to play the instrument. Tendayi Jembere aka TJ, Tee J is a British actor who is best known for his part in the 2003 television show ''Kerching!'', where he played the character of Seymour, the best friend of lead character Taj Lewis. , also known as the Tendai Lotus School (天台法華宗 ''Tendai hokke shū,'' sometimes just "''hokke shū''") is a Mahāyāna Buddhist tradition (with significant esoteric elements) officially established in Japan in 806 by the Japanese monk Saichō ( posthumously known as Dengyō Daishi). The Tendai school, which has been based on Mount Hiei since its inception, rose to prominence during the Heian period (794-1185). It gradually eclipsed the powerful ''Hossō'' school and competed with the rival Shingon school to become the most influential sect at the Imperial court. Tendai Mtawarira (born 1 August 1985) is a Zimbabwean-South African retired professional rugby union player who last played for Old Glory DC in Major League Rugby and previously for the South Africa national team and the in Super Rugby. He was born in Zimbabwe and qualified for South Africa on residency grounds, before later acquiring South African citizenship. Mtawarira, a prop, is known by the nickname ''The Beast''.
