Ten Days In The Madhouse
''Ten Days in the Madhouse'' is an album, by Denise Ho, released on December 12, 2008. It focuses on a kinder perspective of society's outcasts, which includes recovering mental patients. Every song title in this album have a running theme of 4-character, taken from famous names of real celebrities and fictitious characters. The album was released in conjunction with Ho's documentary DVD titled "The Decameron" (). Development and Inspiration During the promotion of her third greatest hits album, " Goomusic Collection 2004-2008", Ho mentioned that she wanted to embrace social messages in her future work rather than telling her own stories. Since then, she started doing a lot of research with her long-time collaborator Yan Yan Mak who has previously worked with Ho and produced highly acclaimed music videos of Ho's. Denise Ho
Denise Ho Wan-see (born 10 May 1977) is a Hong Kong-based Cantopop singer and actress. She is also a pro-democracy and Hong Kong human rights activist. In 2012, Ho came out as lesbian, the first mainstream Cantonese singer to do so. In 2014, Ho was blacklisted by the Chinese government and by the luxury brand Lancome for her participation in the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. Ho is a Canadian citizen. On 28 December 2021, Ho was arrested by the Hong Kong police under the joint charges of both production and distribution of seditious materials. Early life and education Ho was born in Hong Kong. It's almost a year after her last album Ten Days in the Madhouse, her 2009 new album titled Heroes, backed by her songwriting partners Wyman Wong, Hanjin Tan, and her older brother, Harris Ho, Denise offers 10 new songs intended to empower listeners to find the superheroes within themselves and share the positive energy of each other. Yan Yan Mak (Man Yuen-Yan) is a Hong Kong based female award-winning director. Biography She graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts; as a student, Yan Yan worked for the film industry as an assistant director, production manager, art director, and wardrobe designer. Her graduation short film ''Snapshots'' won the Distinguish Award at the International Short Film & Video Awards of Hong Kong in 1998. Hanjin Tan (born 27 January 1976) is a Singaporean record producer, songwriter, singer, and actor based in Hong Kong. Life and career Hanjin Tan was born on 27 January 1976 in Singapore in a conservative Hainanese family of two siblings. His father worked in the shipping industry and his mother is a housewife. At age 12, he was diagnosed with only half of his hearing in his right ear and 75% in his left. While attending Anglo-Chinese School, Tan sang in the choir and picked up some vocal basics. Castle Peak Hospital is the oldest and largest psychiatric hospital in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong. It has located at the east of Castle Peak in Tuen Mun, the hospital was established in 1961.
