Temple Hill (Hong Kong)
Temple Hill, also known as Tsz Wan Shan (), is a hill between New Kowloon and the New Territories, Hong Kong. It peaks at 488 m. Beneath its south side is the residential area of Tsz Wan Shan and Buddhist temples. Sha Tin Pass runs between the hill and Unicorn Ridge. The summit of the hill is located within Sha Tin District. New Kowloon
New Kowloon is an area in Hong Kong, bounded in the south by Boundary Street, and in the north by the ranges of the Eagle's Nest, Beacon Hill, Lion Rock, Tate's Cairn and Kowloon Peak. It covers the present-day Kwun Tong District and Wong Tai Sin District, and part of the Sham Shui Po District and Kowloon City District. The name of this area is rarely used in day to day life. Areas that belongs to New Kowloon are usually referred to as part of Kowloon. However, in land leases, it is common to refer to land lots in lot numbers as "New Kowloon Inland Lot number #". New Territories
The New Territories is one of the three main regions of Hong Kong, alongside Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. It makes up 86.2% of Hong Kong's territory, and contains around half of the population of Hong Kong. Historically, it is the region described in the Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory. According to that treaty, the territories comprise the mainland area north of Boundary Street on the Kowloon Peninsula and south of the Sham Chun River (which is the border between Hong Kong and Mainland China), as well as over 200 outlying islands, including Lantau Island, Lamma Island, Cheung Chau, and Peng Chau in the territory of HK. Tsz Wan Shan
Tsz Wan Shan () is a residential area in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Located below Temple Hill, it is administratively part of Wong Tai Sin District. (Note that Temple Hill is also called ''Tsz Wan Shan'' , but Tsz Wan Shan usually refers to the area). It is a densely populated residential area, consisting of several large public housing estates. The old Tsz Wan Shan housing blocks (64 buildings in total) were demolished between late 1980s and mid 1990s. Features Po Kong Village Road Park is located at 140 Po Kong Village Road. There are elevated cycling track (about 1 kilometre in length), cycling area and skater park. Three vertical rams of different difficulty levels are constructed for co-use by players of extreme sports, namely freestyle BMX, skateboarding and aggressive inline skating. Sha Tin Pass
Sha Tin Pass (; ) or Shatin Pass, and sometimes Sha Tin Au (), is a mountain pass between Temple Hill (Hong Kong), Temple Hill and Unicorn Ridge in Hong Kong. The pass is located north of the populous area of Tsz Wan Shan, and used to be the only path connecting Kowloon and Sha Tin. The area is administratively divided along the border between Lion Rock Country Park and Tsz Chuk Pavillion (), with the area inside the mountain belonging to Sha Tin District, and the area under the foothill belonging to Wong Tai Sin District. History Sha Tin Pass was one of major accesses from Kowloon to the south to Sha Tin to the north before the construction of roads and railway. Unicorn Ridge
Unicorn Ridge () is a mountain in Hong Kong at in height. It is one of the Eight Mountains of the Kowloon Ridge and falls within Lion Rock Country Park. Sha Tin Pass lies between Unicorn Ridge and Temple Hill. The summit of Unicorn Ridge is just above MacLehose Trail, west of Sha Tin Pass. Sha Tin District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. As one of the 9 districts located in the New Territories, it covers the areas of Sha Tin, Tai Wai, Ma On Shan, Fo Tan, Siu Lek Yuen, and Ma Liu Shui. The district is the most populous district in Hong Kong, with a population of 659,794 as per 2016 by-census, having a larger population than many states or dependencies including Iceland, Malta, Montenegro and Brunei. The Eight Mountains of Kowloon () are eight prominent mountains in Hong Kong that serve as a natural border between the Kowloon area and the New Territories.
