''Television'' ( bn, টেলিভিশন) is a 2012 Bangladeshi drama film based on changing social values and adoption of technology directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and starring Kazi Shahir Huda Rumi, Chanchal Chowdhury, Mosharraf Karim, and Tisha. The film was selected as the Bangladeshi entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards. Plot As a leader of the local community, Chairman Amin (Shahir Huda Rumi) bans every kind of image in his water-locked village in a specific part of rural Bangladesh. He even goes on to claim that imagination is also sinful since it gives one the license to infiltrate into any prohibited territory. But change is a desperate wind that is difficult to resist by shutting the window. Mostofa Sarwar Farooki
Mostofa Sarwar Farooki (born 2 May 1973) is a Bangladeshi film director, producer and screenwriter. His films ''Third Person Singular Number'', ''Television'', ''No Bed Of Roses'' were critically acclaimed across the world and received numerous international and national awards. He founded filmmakers' movement called ''"Chabial"''. Early life Farooki was born 2 May 1973 in the Nakhalpara neighborhood of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He attended Tejgaon Government Boys' High School. Career Farooki has set a new trend in terms of presentation and direction in the early 2000. His debut film was ''Bachelor'' (2003) starring Humayun Faridi, Aupee Karim, Ferdous Ahmed, Shabnur and many others. Noakhali District
Noakhali ( bn, নোয়াখালী, , New canal), historically known as Bhulua ( bn, ভুলুয়া), is a district in southeastern Bangladesh, located in the Chittagong Division. The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is an international cultural initiative overseen by the Asia Pacific Screen Academy and headquartered in Australia. Busan International Film Festival
The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF, previously Pusan International Film Festival, PIFF), held annually in Haeundae-gu, Busan (''also'' Pusan), South Korea, is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. 17th Busan International Film Festival
The 17th Busan International Film Festival was held from October 4 to October 13, 2012 at the Busan Cinema Center and was hosted by Ahn Sung-ki and Chinese actress Tang Wei, who is the first foreign celebrity to host the event. In this year's festival, a total of 304 films from 75 countries was screened, with 93 serving as world premieres and 39 serving as international premieres. The event was attended by more than 10,000 guests from over 60 countries.
