''Telegrame'' is a 1959 Romanian comedy film directed by and Gheorghe Naghi and starring Grigore Vasiliu Birlic. The film, based on the eponymous sketch by Ion Luca Caragiale, premiered in Romania on 1 March 1960. It was entered into the 1960 Cannes Film Festival. Dem Rădulescu
Dem Rădulescu (; 21 September 1931 – 17 September 2000) was a Romanian theatre, film and television actor, and academic. He was also a professor at the Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest. Personal life Rădulescu was born in Râmnicu Vâlcea in a family of merchants. After graduating from the Nicolae Bălcescu High School (now known as Alexandru Lahovari National College) in Râmnicu Vâlcea, he had to make a choice between a career as a professional sportsman (boxing) and acting. He was even awarded a golden star at an amateur boxing championship. In 1956, he won first prize for interpreting "Steaguri pe turnuri" (he played the bandit Rijikov) at a contest dedicated to young actors. He was then scouted by Sică Alexandrescu which meant the beginning of Rădulescu's acting career. Alexandru Giugaru (; 23 June 1897 – 15 March 1986) was a Romanian stage and film actor. Early life Born in Huși, Fălciu (present day Vaslui County), Romania, Giugaru began his stage career in 1916 after graduating from school in Cuza Vodă and studying at the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Bucharest. Mihai Fotino
Mihai Fotino (; 14 September 1930 – 13 January 2014) was a prolific Romanian actor who has appeared in theatre, film, television, and radio, in a career spanning 70 years. Born in Bucharest, he spent his early years in BraÈ™ov, where his father, MiÈ™u Fotino, was a stage actor and director, and later graduated from Matei Basarab High School in Bucharest. Ștefan Ciubotărașu
Ștefan Ciubotărașu (; 21 March 1910 – 27 August 1970) was a Romanian actor. He appeared in more than thirty films from 1954 to 1970. He was born into a poor farming family in Lipovăț, Vaslui County, a village in the Moldavia region of Romania. At the age of 10–11 he was sent by his family to Bucharest to become an apprentice shoemaker. In the fall of 1924 he decided to go back and study at the in Vaslui; he became interested in art, culture, and poetry and began to write. He then studied from 1929 to 1932 at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in Iași, after which he moved to Bârlad, where he wanted to establish himself as a theater actor. In 1934, with help from poet Mihai Codreanu, who taught at his old university and offered himself as a mentor, Ciubotărașu secured a job at the Conservatory theater in Iași.
