Telahun Haile Bekele (Amharic: ጥላሁን ኃይሌ በቀለ; born 13 May 1999) is an Ethiopian male long-distance runner who specialises in the 5000 metres. His career has included victories at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea, and at the Bislett Games. He was fourth in the 5000m at the 2019 World Championships. Biography Born to rural farmers in Gurage Zone, Telahun became interested in running after taking part in a high school competition. He joined up with coach Assefa Gadisa in 2015, who guided him to runner-up in the 5000m at the 2017 Ethiopian Athletics Championships. Gurage is a zone in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. The region is home to the Gurage people. Gurage is bordered on the southeast by Hadiya and Yem special woreda, on the west, north and east by the Oromia Region, and on the southeast by Silt'e. Its highest point is Mount Gurage. Samuel Tefera
Samuel Tefera (born 23 October 1999) is an Ethiopian middle distance runner who specialises in the 1500 metres. At the age of 18, he became the 2018 World indoor champion, and defended his title at the 2022 World Indoor Championships, setting the championship record in the process. Tefera is the current African record holder in the indoor event. He held 1500m world indoor record for three years, with his mark currently being the second-fastest on the world indoor all-time list. Weltklasse Zürich ( en, World Class Zurich) is an annual, invitation-only, world-class track and field meeting at the Letzigrund in Zürich, Switzerland, generally held at the end of August or beginning of September. The Giro Media Blenio is an annual road running event over 10 kilometres which takes place in April in the village of Dongio, Switzerland. It was created in honour of Markus Ryffel's silver medal in the 5000 metres at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. The event, held in the district of Blenio, is divided into four race types. The Diamond League is an annual series of elite track and field athletic competitions comprising fourteen of the best invitational athletics meetings. The series sits in the top tier of the World Athletics (formerly known as the IAAF) one-day meeting competitions. The inaugural season was in 2010.
