Tejay Antone
Tejay Anthony Antone (born December 5, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). Amateur career Antone attended Mansfield Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas. Antone was drafted by the New York Mets in the 22nd round of the 2012 MLB draft, but did not sign and attended Texas Christian University. He appeared in 6 games for the TCU Horned Frogs in 2013. Antone transferred to Weatherford College for the 2014 season, going 7–6 with a 2.88 ERA over innings. Antone was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 5th round, with the 155th overall selection, of the 2014 MLB draft. Professional career Antone split the 2014 season between the Arizona League Reds and the Billings Mustangs, going a combined 2–3 with a 5.76 ERA over innings. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The 2014 Major League Baseball (MLB) First-Year Player Draft was held from June 5 through June 7, 2014, to assign amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The Chattanooga Lookouts are a Minor League Baseball team of the Southern League and the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.
