Teenage Head (band)
Teenage Head is a Canadian punk rock group from Hamilton, Ontario, that was popular in Canada during the early 1980s. The group was formed in Hamilton, Ontario in 1975, by Frankie Venom (Frank Kerr), Gord Lewis, Steve Mahon, and Nick Stipanitz. Venom died on October 15, 2008. Lewis died August 7, 2022. The band's name is a reference to The Flaming Groovies' 1971 album '' Teenage Head'', which Gord Lewis had seen advertised in a music magazine but not heard, and decided that he, one day, would form a band with that name. History Teenage Head was formed in 1975 when the band members were students at Westdale High School in Hamilton. The original lineup featured Gord Lewis on guitar, Steve Park on guitar, Frankie Venom on drums and Dave Desroches on vocals. The Tornados (The Tornadoes in North America) were an English instrumental rock group of the 1960s that acted as backing group for many of record producer Joe Meek's productions and also for singer Billy Fury. Jack Morrow
John Cassell (Jack) Morrow (26 February 1872 – 11 January 1926) was a political cartoonist, illustrator and landscape painter. John Cassell Morrow was born in Belfast in 1872. He was the son of George Morrow, a painter and decorator from Hanover House, Clifton Street, in west Belfast. All but one of his seven brothers were working artists. Morrow was married and had two sons, Donal and Dermot, and a daughter Moppie. Life and work Jack Morrow was the most politically active amongst his siblings and was a regular contributor to ''The Irish Review'', ''The Republic'', and other Irish journals. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Since the mid-1950s, the bass guitar has largely replaced the double bass in popular music. Dave Desroches
Dave "Rave" DesRoches is a Canadian rock musician from Hamilton, Ontario. To the general public, he is the sometime Teenage Head rhythm guitarist on the early recordings who graduated to lead singer during a Frankie Venom hiatus in 1985 and catapulted the band back into the charts. Many know him as a session player who has played with such notables as Daniel Lanois, Andrew Loog Oldham and Alex Chilton. Career Early career Dave began his music career in his high school years writing songs and performing driving acoustic rock and folk-pop in and around Hamilton. This evolved into the group, The Shakers, from 1979 to 1982 with Rick Andrew, Tim Gibbons and Claude DesRoches.
