Ted Robbins
Edward Michael Robbins (born 11 August 1955) is an English comic, actor, television presenter and radio broadcaster. He has performed as a warm-up artist for numerous pre-recorded comedy shows that have been filmed before live studio audiences including Granada Television's ''Wood and Walters'' and '' Birds of a Feather'', provided the voiceover in ''Catchphrase'' from 1994 to 1996 and returned in Roy Walker's penultimate series in 1998 and 1999, and the BBC's '' Little Britain''. He also starred in Peter Kay's ''Phoenix Nights'' (2001–02) for both series as Den Perry, the main "villain", and also the Governor in ''The Slammer''. His most recent roles were in '' Benidorm'' in 2012 as Victor St. James as well as '' Hank Zipzer'' in episode 8 playing Bob Bing The Sausage King and Diddy TV playing Larry Weinsteinberger/Bingbongberger. Fred Dibnah
Frederick Travis Dibnah, (29 April 1938 – 6 November 2004) was an English steeplejack and television personality, with a keen interest in mechanical engineering, who described himself as a "backstreet mechanic". When Dibnah was born, Britain relied heavily upon coal to fuel its industry. As a child, he was fascinated by the steam engines which powered the many textile mills in Bolton, but he paid particular attention to chimneys and the men who worked on them. He began his working life as a joiner, before becoming a steeplejack. From age 22, he served for two years in the Army Catering Corps of the British Army, undertaking his National Service. Once demobilised, he returned to steeplejacking but met with limited success until he was asked to repair Bolton's parish church. ''Wood and Walters'' is a British television comedy sketch show starring Julie Walters and Victoria Wood for Granada Television and written entirely by Wood. The show was short-lived, with one pilot in 1981 and a series of seven shows in 1982. Background Both women had first met at Manchester Polytechnic in 1970, Wood was hoping to enroll, and Walters was coming to the end of her course. They met again in 1978 when they both appeared in the same revue '' In at the Death'' at The Bush Theatre in London. ''Crackerjack'' is a British children's television series that initially aired on the BBC Television Service between 14 September 1955 and 21 December 1984 (with no series in 1971). The series was a variety show featuring comedy sketches, singers and quizzes, broadcast live with an audience. ''The League of Gentlemen'' is a surreal British comedy horror sitcom that premiered on BBC Two in 1999.
