Ted Nuce
Ted Nuce (born January 19, 1961) is an American former professional rodeo cowboy who specialized in bull riding. He is a 2009 ProRodeo Hall of Fame inductee. He was the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) World Champion bull rider in 1985. He also won the Professional Bull Riders (PBR)'s inaugural World Finals event in 1994. He was also a co-founder of the PBR. A native of Escalon, California, Nuce turned pro in 1982. He was the champion of the PRCA California Circuit in bull riding in eight seasons: 1982, 1983, 1985, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1994. In 1996, the PBR inducted him into their Ring of Honor, an award "given annually to individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the sport of professional bull riding, both in and out of the arena." Seattle Post-Intelligencer
The ''Seattle Post-Intelligencer'' (popularly known as the ''Seattle P-I'', the ''Post-Intelligencer'', or simply the ''P-I'') is an online newspaper and former print newspaper based in Seattle, Washington, United States. Bull Riding Hall Of Fame
The Bull Riding Hall of Fame, located at Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas, United States, is a hall of fame for the sport of bull riding. It is incorporated as a non-profit organization in the State of Texas, and created to "recognize, memorialize, and applaud the bull riders, bullfighters, bulls, stock contractors, events, and individuals who have made a historic contribution and attained stellar performance in the sport." Membership is open to fans worldwide. The Bull Riding Hall of Fame intends to honor all of the bull riding champions. But the hall also has other goals to preserve the history of bull riding, housing "inductee exhibits, accomplishments, photos, videos, personal effects and much more". PBR Global Cup
The PBR Global Cup is a bull riding team competition that was developed in 2017 by the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) organization, which intends to give the winning country the ability to say they have the best bull riders. Previously, there was a similar team event called the PBR World Cup that the PBR ran from 2007 to 2010, but this new event is not a continuation of the previous one. The PBR Global Cup consists of teams from five countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and the United States. A different country holds the team event each year as this is an annual event. The host country does retain a competitive advantage. The best riders in each team are matched against the best riders from other teams. The contest is a series that continues until one country holds all five pieces of the Global Cup, which includes the horn and the native soil of each nation. Rodeo () is a competitive equestrian sport that arose out of the working practices of cattle herding in Spain and Mexico, expanding throughout the Americas and to other nations. It was originally based on the skills required of the working vaqueros and later, cowboys, in what today is the western United States, western Canada, and northern Mexico. Today, it is a sporting event that involves horses and other livestock, designed to test the skill and speed of the cowboys and cowgirls.
