Ted Ellis (artist)
Ted Ellis (born 1963) is an American artist and former environmental chemist. Ellis is best known for his African American art, African-American themed art and styles which blend elements of folk art, naturalism (visual art), naturalism and impressionism. His personal rendition of Barack Obama acrylic painting, in acrylic, ''Obama, the 44th President'', was presented in honor of the First inauguration of Barack Obama, 2009 Presidential Inauguration. Ellis' art business has sold over 1.75 million fine art products, and he works with a number of prominent corporations. He is also known for his community work, especially advancing arts in children's education. Ted Ellis (footballer)
Edward James Ellis (23 February 1913 – 5 August 2007) was an Australian rules footballer who played with North Melbourne and Footscray in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Ellis was a utility player and made his league debut with North Melbourne in 1933. He represented Victoria at interstate football in the 1937 Perth Carnival. In 1940 he changed clubs, moving to Footscray where he played mostly in defence. Ellis won the Footscray best and fairest award in 1942. During the depression of the 1930s, Ellis, at the age of 15, took swag to back and headed to country Victoria in search of work. Outside of football, Ellis was a fireman, and drove a truck on his rostered days off. He had six children, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. His two eldest sons also played League football: Lindsay Ellis played for Footscray and Kingsley Ellis played for Fitzroy. Ted Ellis (naturalist)
Surlingham is a village and civil parish in the South Norfolk district of Norfolk situated on the Broads in eastern United Kingdom. It lies approximately 6½ miles (10½ km) south-east of Norwich on the south bank of the River Yare between Bramerton and Rockland St Mary. In the 2001 census it contained 266 households and a population of 637, increasing to 725 at the 2011 census. Although Surlingham is part of South Norfolk District, as in other broadland villages those areas of the village adjacent to the river and broads fall into the executive area of the Broads Authority. Toponymy The villages name origin is uncertain. 'Homestead/village of the south Herlingas (= *Herela's people)' or possibly, 'of the Sutherlingas'.
