Tecnica Group is a sport equipment manufacturer in the market of footwear and winter sports equipment founded in Giavera del Montello, Treviso, Italy. Tecnica Group brands include Blizzard, Lowa, Moon Boot, Nordica, Rollerblade, and Tecnica. History Tecnica Group was established in the 1960s. Blizzard is an Austrian sports equipment company, based in Mittersill, Salzburg, Austria. Blizzard is currently a division of the italian Tecnica Group S.p.A. and is specialized in the manufacturing of alpine skiing equipment, more specifically skis and accessories (backpacks, ski bags). History Blizzard was established in 1945 by Anton Arnsteiner (1925–2013, "der Toni"), as he returned home from the second world war, in the family joinery workshop, and started producing skis besides wooden furniture. The company was started by Scott Olson (b. 1960), Brennan Olson (b. 1964) and Christopher Middlebrook in Minneapolis as Ole's Innovative Sports; when they sold the company, it became Rollerblade, Inc. and has changed hands over time between Nordica, Benetton Group and Tecnica. and Inline-skates had been used for many years by ice speed skaters before they became mainstream.
